Having experienced what 270kph feels like on the skin... no thanks! Windshield please! It would look great if they hadn't forgotten that bit.

Re: >>>AD Int'l Motor Show Pics
I was surprised...there was no BMW at the exhibition...nor was MAZDA..i was really looking forward to seing the new beamer 7 series... Couldn't agree more, I was very disappointed in the lack of a BMW presence. The only beamer in the place was at a foilcar stand. Some crappy chromed out 3 series. W...

Re: ATTN AUH Members
The traffic id is the long number on the back of your driving license. I've a Dubai license and there is no long number on the back. I can type gibberish into the field and it just says I have no fines.. doesn't tell me error or anything. And for Dubai plates, to I put the letter before or after th...

Here's a question - How the heck does that website work? It's asking for the traffic ID and I've no idea what that is. Anyone know?

Re: Radars in Dubai (General Information)
Speed cameras are a tax, simple as that. Speeding isn't the problem, reckless driving is. Until they devise a camera that can ticket people tailgating, passing on hard shoulders, multiple lane changes/weaving through traffic, in other words... unless they can develop a robotic police officer that ha...

Re: Another Way To Reduce Traffic Congestion
What about all those who already have a license? I don't see how this would have a positive effect on traffic, but may help control the growth of the problem I guess but wow. Just an amazing policy. You can't drive if your... menial. I know a lot of folks who rely upon their housing help to be able ...

Re: BMW Mechanic - Any recommendations?
Not sure that he's .. well, famous! But he's a solid mechanic for the mechanical systems in the car. A buddy of mine has been taking his M5 (and his 545 before that) there for awhile and has a good track record. Just not sure of where else I could go . Thanks!

I need a program update but I can't go to the dealer or Jano's because they use the official Progman computer to do the updates, I need a 3rd party computer to do the update, which means I need to find a new BMW mechanic. High end detailing shop in Dubai?
Hey all,
Anyone know of a high end professional detail/car cleaning shop here in Dubai? I heard of a place in Al Qouz called "ProShine" but the number I have for it doesn't work and I can't find any other information about it.
Thanks in advance,
-Dirk

Re: Salik tag placement?
I've been either holding it to my windshield as I go, or plopping it on my dash board (still haven't decided where to stick it), and have yet to receive a fine. Been working perfectly so far. I'm leaning towards my sun roof but I'll just have to be careful when the cooler weather comes around and no...

Re: R35 GT-Rs in UAE
Saw another one on SZR with a 3 digit plate, don't remember off hand what the plate number was, and didn't think of snapping a pic of it! Lovely car. But I'd have to agree, I'd rather own an R8. I was too busy annoying the hell out of a Land Cruiser tailgating me, flashing his lights, in bumper to b...
