5 year import rule us spec
hi guys before i get flamed i've searched the forums and google for like past five hours. here's the deal. I'm going home on vacation and thinking of picking up a usdm s14 (95 - 97) unmodded manual to get shipped and registered here in dubai or abu dhabi. I can register in either since i live in dubai but work in abu dhabi, of course abu dhabi would be much easier for me since it seems like rta randomly approves or denies ad visa holders.
So far on this forum the most recent comment on the five year rule was in november and it was said that 5 year rule has been postponed another earlier post says usdm cars no problem to bring over. I just would like to make sure nothing has changed over the last few months. rta website only has a copy of when the rules were proposed back in 2008 and abu dhabi site is even less helpful.
if i can bring over car does anyone know of any good companies over here to go through for the paperwork. thanks for any help.

i dont think its possible but then again if you are a son or a daughter or a general, sheikh or a member of the royal family maybe you can get it passed..
but for ordinary expat? i don think so..
my stickers wont even passed the annual passing for registration and that sticker is merely 5 inches long

I think its risky to bring it here...it will be registered but heard rule will be implemented this year...as I was planning to bring 96 300ZX but then dropped the idea as no point driving it for a year or so..

Docaam, I was about to ship a '90 model 300zx, if successful, and if the rule was implement, I wouldn't be able to drive it here?
