theres a dodge charger sitting under the sun for more than 7 months in the compound I live. its shameful! used to be black, now it looks like it got one of those funny sand-like coats that people get on their front end(but its everywhere).

Haha, tha't's just sad. I've had Infinitis in Nahda which look like bird poo...because of bird poo. It's disgusting. And one of them is a Qx56! Sigh.

If the owners abandoned them, why don't you just take them, (they left it so techinacally not steeling)not like they are going to need it back

The car is tied to owner by the Mulkia, aka, Registration Card. And, 99.9% of the time, the cars left behind were on loan, and the owner couldn't pay the car loan, or house loan, or whatever loan, so he leaves behind the car, for the bank to take back, auction off, and the proceeds go towards repayment of the loan.

In an ideal world though. And, my God, the abandoned cars I've seen so far make me drool, esp. the ones in Umm Ramool, Al Quoz and Sharjah Industrial Area.

So theoretically, if 'someone' pays off the remaining loans, the car will be theirs for the taking?

If he gets the transfer of ownership signed by both parties, yes.

i live in the abu shagara area (king faisal road, behind choithram supermarket).
there's an abandoned black toyota camry outside my building that already has a 'warning sticker' on it. i hope the police or the municipality find time to take it away.
and somewhere in the neighborhood are two abandoned black toyota yaris'. the full-option one already has 'warning stickers' on it.

how long does it take before these vehicles are taken away? and what will happen to them? i hear they will be refurbished.

Warning stickers in Sharjah? Never heard of 'em! We've got tonnes in Nahda, and they haven't moved since I arrived in Sharjah 4 years ago. Esp. this black Magna VR-X without plates.

The cars are normally auctioned off.

^I bet one can a find a pretty good bargain on some pretty sweet rides, if one knows the location and time of the auction.
