MMC President and Global Chief Executive, Osamu Masuko has said:
"We recognise that automakers have a responsibility to take the lead in developing environmental initiatives... Our goal is to become a world leader in the reduction of CO2 emissions on a global scale."
Masuko continued to say:
"Production of the current Lancer Evolution X continues as planned. As for its successor, regulations and market feedback will dictate its engineering package and architecture. MMC has kept the Lancer Evolution sedan evolving as the brand’s highest performing model in the global market. However, as the markets needs and demands change, MMC is considering not advancing the Lancer Evolution concept in the same way as before, but to find a different direction for the Lancer Evolution model to evolve. The new direction, the technologies involved, and corresponding products will be disclosed in due course."

All the japanese car companies have stopped production, and everyones fleeing japan for the nuclear plant, now we have to buy cars that suck... Sh*t!
Following the devastation of Friday’s earthquake and Tsunami which ripped through many areas in the North of Japan, Japanese car companies have suspended production.
Some 2,400 people have now been confirmed dead and thousands are still missing.
Not surprisingly, Toyota suspended production at all of its plants and Mitsubishi has halted production at its three domestic assembly plants.
Honda and Nissan have also temporarily stopped operations while Fuji Heavy Industries, maker of Subaru cars, closed five factories.
Around 2,300 Nissan and Infiniti brand vehicles awaiting shipment to US and elsewhere were damaged when the tsunami swept through the Port of Hitachi.
Toyota has stopped production at more than a dozen assembly plants and parts factories, the company said it will decide when to restart production after assessing damage to ensure conditions are safe for a return to work.
Mazda and Suzuki were pretty much spared from the quake’s effects because their assembly plants are in other areas of the country but they said they are gathering information about the impact on suppliers and distribution systems.
But for those who survived – car manufacturer is the last of their concerns- they are facing a terribly grim existence for a while yet, with no power in much of the country and food, water and fuel in desperately short supply.

I never meant it in that way,its just that using alternate resources isn't actually saving us!There is a dark side to most of them and they can replace conventional fuels with EVs but dumping the gazillions of batteries will become an issue. If you do your math, electric cars leave a much greater carbon footprint than conventional cars in countries using fuel-fired power plants.TNT wrote:A bit harsh, don't you think?

^Its not about math all the time... Look for videos like these:

Also, when electricity is usually produced with natural fuels, coal, etc... how does it actually differ if the government is burning it to provide converted energy as electrical to the people or if the people's cars do it themselves like internal combustion?
