Hi everyone,

im new to the uae and have been living in abu dhabi for last couple of months.

i am OVER driving a rental yaris :| and am going to start the search for a new beast :o

i owned 3 r32 skylines in Aust 2 of which were 600hp GTR's.

my first question is a pretty basic one; Is there any way i can register a right hand drive car here in the UAE? If only for a period of 12 months...after which i will prob try and take it home...

any information would be great!

cheers,

Francisco

It's a phenomenon whereby you know somebody working in a (goverment) area, and through that way can bypass some things.

It's like knowing a guy in the police, and getting rid of some parking fines.

Many people claim to have it, very few actually do.

Others just join the government and work there... :D

Welcome to the board.

As the registration procedures for RHD cars here are overly complex (especially for non-nationals), I would only suggest you to go for a pre-registered RHD car as you don't intend to stay in the country for more than an year. Check our Cars for Sale forum for some offers.

RHD cars cannot be registered in Abu Dhabi. They had the new LHD-only rules by mid-2004. See here for more info on registration issues, incld. in RAK and UAQ.
