This is for those Honda Owners who know everything about Honda and nothing about nissan, here i will try to explain why Nissan is a better choice for performance than Honda.

We will look at step by step at all the classes of the two brands and compare each model.

Civic VS Sentra

notice the 2.5l V6 engine in this car

okay, most of you know about the usual system of a honda civic owner , yada yada, buys car, then looks for a swap, well the same goes for the sentra guys, and just like the honda EF,EG,EK there is the sentra B13,B14,B15 and the new ones B16 body codes.
However the big difference comes here, for the B13 1991 to 1994 model sentra, your engine choices are as follow, SR20DE motor which is basically a 140hp sentra ser engine, which is stock if you buy the upper model in those days, next option for the same B13 is SR20VE which is the Vtec version of that non-vtec ser motor this engine produces 170hp/160tq approx, then you have the next option which would be a RED TOP i.e a SR20DET, this is the SR20 Motor with Turbo and Vtec, this engine is just to cool for civics to compare, 230hp/220tq stock appx can be boosted to alot more.All engines are DOHC.

Normal Engine swaps for Sentra
SR20DE = $700 = 1,700 dhirhams = stock 140hp/132tq
this engine can make up to 400hp with turbo

SR20VE = $1,200 = 2,700 dhirhams = stock 180hp
this engine can make more than 500hp on stock internals and pump gas with only 15lbs of boost

SR20DET = $1,500 = 3,400 dhirhams = stock 220hp or more easily make more than 700hp on a built engine.

the above engine are only for one model type they can be put in 240sx, 300zx's and all but those are the only engines swaps that fit the B13, next is the B14 sentra the 1995 model sentra to 1999, and this model can have all these mentioned engine swaps plus a really nice one called the VQ, yes a freaking Maxima V6 3.5L 260hp/250tq engine in a car lighter than the EK civic. and it would only cost $2,000 for the engine and maby $3,000 for complete labour and all.

then from 2000 to 2006 you have the B15 sentra's that came with the 2.5L 180hp/170tq 6spd SE-R Spec V engine, just with intake that car pulls 14sec stock.

and the new ones 2007-2008 B16 sentra's 200hp stock.

Normal engine swaps for civic
ZC = (1.6L DOHC non VTEC) 125-132 hp/106tq = $700
B16A (B16A 1.6L VTi) 168hp/116tq or (teg Si)158hp/112tq = $ 1,200
B16C 195hp/130tq = $2,220 = 5,000 dhirhams
B18a (LS) 140hp/130tq = $1,800 = 4,000 dhirhams
B18c1 (GSR) 170hp/128tq = $3,000 = 7,000 dhirhams
B20 Z/B 126-146hp/121tq = $2,800 = 6,400 dhirhams
F22 127-160hp/137-147tq= $1,800 - $2,500 = work it out...lol

More expesive swaps
B16B CTR 185 hp/118tq = $4,000 = 9,200 dhirhams
B18C5 (Type-R) 200hp/130tq = $4,500 = 10,350 dhirhams
H22A 200hp/161tq = $5,000 = $14,500 dhirhams
K20 220hp/206tq = $ 9,000 = 27,000 dhirhams
K24 160hp/162 tq = ?

i think the prices tell the story and the torque ranges why nissans are better

Accord or Prelude VS Maxima= maxima

S2000 240hp VS 350Z 300hp= 350 Z

NSX VS Skyline= ???????.....skyline.lol though NSX are very nice but just tooooo expensive to play around with overpriced for what they are and parts.

i have been in the car scene so i have good knowledege and experiance....

hope this helps you guys understand, this was for those who referred me to tell them something about nissan, even though i own a 350 i though it would be easier to explain with the smaller cars.

Im not debating just that the B20Z/b you quote Dhs6400/= for that amount you can buy 3 engines and might have change for another half.

exactly my point!!!!!!

nissan is cheaper to build and way faster, and people might not understand, but just like 1 pound equals 2 dollars, every nissan hp equals 2 honda hp, a 115 hp b13 sentra feels like a 160hp civic eg, no joke, their engine are just built aggressive.

hehehe, man you should be, sunny are like JDM cars to us here like how JDM honda and integras are to the honda ppl, only thing is that people actually repect sentra drivers which is the lowest or smallest of nissan car size, and even those common here are fast, like when you see one you know ohhh man not to mess with them because 90% are fast, and if their not, they are stock,they will still out run the 80% of civics,lol and then we have the maxima's no one messes with those cars, and then 350Z and skylines, so Nissan reputation here in the west is very hardcore, we know that nissan is not as good looking cars as honda and acura but we only car about performance.

Well, being a car enthusiast, i think its better to look at each car differently!
I'd rather compare individual cars than brands!

But yeah, I'm up for Most Nissans against Hondas! (Y)

Very true! Honda's build quality is superb, but Nissan's engine rocks!

i thought i recognised you from the picture :P ...lool...salman right??..guy its me tamu from DC!!!...its good to no your on the site as well??!?...where are you these days??

back to topic
nissan and honda are both good in there own places...when it comes to the engines that you mentioned above, well honestly i dont see so much of a supply demand thing going on...most people stick with civics bcoz the availabilty of the after market parts and the engine. living in canada now i see that there still is alot of honda's roaming around even though it would be easier to pick up a sentra engine anytime

i guess its more of a choice people have to make..most people dont have knowledge of the nissan sentra and the nissan engine in general besides for the skyline ofcourse...we have been brain washed by the honda virus :P ..loool...i still took to honda's...i like there power and reliability...

good info salman!! keep in touch buddy

Hey man,

yes i remember Tamujin right?

I'm good thanks, still in Canada, looking forward to moving to uae after my degrees complete.

hows things? hopes all well.

anyways,

yes i kinda hate the way the nissan are looking today,,,very umm awkward except the 350z and skyline, but the maximas and others are getting ugly, but then their engines get more and more powerful,yum.... and hondas just keep getting hotter and hotter but their engines are weak in terms of full out performance...but not reliability, as they are really good reliable cars too.

like someone siad i think just depends on induvidual wants and taste.

.. u need to check ur data again. Alot of it is wrong especially with prices of engines and with the capability of Honda engines ....

just another point - u keep mentioning Nissan VTEC. Vtec is a trademark of Honda... :wink:
Nissan is VVL if im not mistaken ... AND Lets not forget where they got the technology from either! - Honda!
....but just like 1 pound equals 2 dollars, every nissan hp equals 2 honda hp, a 115 hp b13 sentra feels like a 160hp civic eg, no joke, their engine are just built aggressive.
Sorry i dont understand.
1 pound = 2 dollars (understandable)
1 Nissan hp = 2 honda hp (utter rubbish!) :happy:

Hp is Hp. :happy: 1 hp on a Nissan is the same as 1 hp on a Honda, Kia, Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes or any other make...

I smell trouble! I can't figure out why people are crazy for both honda and nissan,personally can't go for one particular brand,but since I own a CRV I'm with the genuine V-TEC fellas!
