Hi,

Not many of you know is that my brother Aasim was in police custody for an accident related case.It wasnt my brother's fault but still kept in custody for 54 days.

A speeding BMW 7 series 2008 jumped the red signal and hit my brother's car (Honda Accord) and steered out of control. My father was also with Aasim at the time of the accident. The BMW kept going and ran over 3 people who were walking on the side of the road and hit 4 cars which were parked on the side of the road. The 3 people who were run over died on the spot.

Police people came and took both the BMW driver (25 yr old UAE national) and my brother in custody. Irony of the fact is that the UAE national guy was let off after 7 days and my brother kept in custody. We came to know later the police had put the blame on us of jumping the red singal. The BMW guy made up 3 false witnesses of the accident and gave vague statements. Public prosecution stated the BMW driver's speed as 90 km/h..(car went upto 100 meters after hitting Aasim's car )Severe injustice !

At last due to prayers of well-wishers and efforts of our lawyers, Aasim was finally let off today. The next hearing on the case is on 3rd Feb.

I will keep you updated of the happenings.

Thanks and keep praying,
Aamir

This is very bad, these kind of stupids must be punished

Hope your brother and father weren't injured. Justice will prevail Insaallah.

Very sad to hear of your brother's ordeal :( I'm very happy to hear he was released today, despite having been jailed unfairly for two whole months!

There is but one reassurance - in the long run, who is guilty will not escape punishment for his crime, even if he hides the facts.

I'm starting to hate the justice of this country. In a couple of months I have seen and heard of more than 10 cases of injustice where the hot-shot guy is totally wrong but gets out of jail in minutes or doesn't even come near the jail.

Congrats to you and your family Amir, Private Eye must have gone through hell in those 54 days
May Allah bless him and the future hearings turn out to be in his favour.

OMG, that is so wrong. Making up fake witnesses and doing all that bullcrap, that guy should be in jail! He must be one big %#%$ to kill 3 people and still try to falsely convict someone else! What a jerk!

Hi,

Just got the car today.
Case- the case was decided against my brother on basis of the false witness that the local guy made up. We moved the case to Appeal case too but the judgement was again against us. Luckily our Insurance company intervened and paid up the blood money (600,000). The even fought the case for us through their lawyers but were helpless against the unjust people.
Anyways. Thank Allah that the matter is over now.
I have added the car pics so that you can see the extent of the damage.

Pray for everyone's safety whether on roads or anywhere.
Regards,
Aamir
