Latest question:
How is the traffic between SHJ and DXB in the morning nowadays? Is it still sluggish?
I used to work in Dubai and I must say the traffic was hell at that time. I worked in Jumeirah for 2 years until our company shifted us to SHJ. But in case our company shifts us back to DXB I want to know how the traffic conditions in the morning are. Especially on a rainy day.

hey sharky, waddap man???
traffic from shj-dubai on a rainy day is a disaster. u'll need to leve ur house 3 hours before the time u need to reach ur destination. on other days say it will be about 1 and a half hours approx. it will differ according to time. like say, early morning, shj-jebel ali, shj-dubai traffic will be there. if its sumwhere in the mid mornings then theres gona be only shj-dubai traffic. so its completly on ur luck. and plus, these days the road to airport tunnel is under construction, one lane closed, side road entering airport tunnel bridge closed, etc. and even worse, the block the traffic from 5-20mins, for construction vehicles to pass from one end to the other.
so as i said, its all on ur luck.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.
For now I just hope I'll work in SHJ until my contract ends.
And with this recession still going on it's getting scarier to apply for another car loan. There goes my dream of getting a new ride.

When I used to work in Jumeirah the Sunday traffic was the worst in the week. Even when I was shifted to the SHJ Expo building the traffic on DXB/SHJ Road was terrible on Sundays.

1jz is superior to the RB series in respect to maintenance and expense... but its a shame, we all call him stupid...

May 25, 2009:
Is there any other site where people have to pay fines?
Last Friday I was driving home from RAK when the camera flashed at either me or this other car going past 120KPH. Are the speed cameras in Emirates Road linked to the RTA in Dubai?

my dad got flashed somewhere in ajman. 7 months back. and i check fines for everyone in my family almost everyday. i didnt find any at all. my dad went to tasjeel to sell the car to someone and found a 600 bucks fine, and that to 7 months back. he comes home pissed off, and yells at me saying, im selfish and check only my fines, and not his or ther others.
im so sure it wasnt there, its a radar fine. and plus, later on i tried searching it with fine number, appearing on the receipt of the fine paid, and still found nothing...
were they faking up?? or am i dumb?
