Where do I find Kicker car audio in the UAE?
I'm specifically looking for the CompVT 6.5 inch 2 ohm subwoofer, I'd be glad if Neo or someone could send me a quote.
Thanks all.

That is BRILLIANCE! Quick reply (Y)
Is that the 4 ohm woofer, because I'm looking for the 2 ohm to replace the tired stock sub in my Jeep. Please clarify, thanks!

Yes its four ohms!!!
You can still use it, maybe it might reduce the out put.. but it shudnt hurt ur oem amplifier.

The best bet it to get it and give it a shot.

I'm new to the car audio game, all I heard was that the stock system would run a 2 ohm woofer better. How true is that?

The only mod you need is there are ribs in the enclosure that need dremeled down, about 5 minutes of work. Also new holes for the mounting screws for the new subwoofer. It is actually really easy, the most time consuming part was removing the console and sub enclosure from center console.
Well tats upto 2006 model and it will work.

No wonder I have been sellings these 6.5s to customers in Dubai. All i know is they have got a jeep and want to install in the centre console. I thought they are doing some custom enclosure.

And they have been buying the same 4 ohm model.

Like i said before, the amp will run better with these 4 ohms coil. But it might be not as loud as a 2 ohm sub....

You are right from what i have read online the 2 ohm would sound louder most probably.

So the choice is yours.

Nice write up

Also use some poly fill in the enclosure coz that kicker with punch hard enough to rattle the plastic and it will sound something hitting hard on plastic.

And this is what we did on a customers Jeep Rubicon last month.

sorry dude.
The regional kicker dist doesnt get aany woofer with 2 ohms vc.
I am in trouble bcoz of kicker amps love 2ohms.

Your options

1) import 2 ohm version from U.S. (added shipping charge)

2) do a custom rear parcel tray deck with woofer and amp mountedd in the bottom. (costs more since there wud be a woofer and extra amp. The setup would sound awesome with the larger better woofer)

3) install the existing 4 ohm woofer.

Let me know which route you wud prefer. I can do all.

This is probably what we can do for you, the option 2 mentioned in the above post.

I've seen that trunk bracket on Quadratec. I don't want to go that route as its my DD and it already has a tiny trunk.
I'll think about the 4 ohm and let you know. Do I need an amplifier with the 4 ohm?

As a UB buddy I say you try out the 4 ohm version without any extra amplification. If you feel its really bad I will give you an amplifier at cost price to make you happy. But dont count on the latter because you will need to do the installation of amp from some place. :)
