hey guys, I have this thing in my car, I donno what its does or do, but im sure it has something with the engine.
I'm posting this here and other forums hoping for an answer. Would love to know who manufactures this coz i don't want to be pushing them buttons and spoil something. Some suggested its a turbo timer, but they not sure about it themselves.

Yep, it's a turbo timer. My Eclipse GSX had it.

i guess i'll leave it at default settings..... T1 is at 30 secs and T2 is 1 min.... meh I guess it clears things up then... I'll figure how to use this somehowTribal wrote:I guess the 'M' and 'S' buttons on it are to set the Min/Secs? and the 'T1' & 'T2' are to switch between Two saved Times?

I suggest setting it at 2-3 mins for normal, high spirited driving and T2 at 5 mins for track days and when you rape the %#%$ out of that RB26. I use these settings for the Starlet and is to my best knowledge, I might be wrong.
i keep 4 mins on normal driving & 7 mins when i go hard on my car. I make long trips usually so my timings may vary from all of yours. But leaving it long enough doesnt harm your car. You are better off wasting more fuel then wasting a turbo. But i feel 4-7 mins are ideal timings.
Cheers

Well not exactly, excessive idling can harm your engine and exhaust in the long run.7afe wrote:. But leaving it long enough doesnt harm your car. You are better off wasting more fuel then wasting a turbo.
10 mins is unnecessary, you'll be safe with 5-6 minutes even after an intense track run.Coyote302 wrote:that's cool... My car is track only. so I guess i'll set it for between 5-10+ mins
Long enough i meant 5-7 mins. 10+ mins is not really necessary. But hey if the car is driven once in a while(track), why not let it run for sometime before putting it back to sleep . Still 10+ dont make sense brah! stick with 7 is good enough or even 6 which ever makes you happy
If you can set your throttle position a little higher then damaging your engine can be taken care off.Its the same story when you are stuck in traffic you idle for way more than 10 mins. It doesn't really make a huge difference. Only thing that i learned about idling your car for a little long is belts and oil will need to be changed a little before time. Other than that i dont see idling for 5-10 mins a big of an issue. Something i wont care about .
Cheers!
