I have FINALLY come over my sound system....the only thing i was able to do was scrap my existing system and move on to something new!!! yesterday i went 2 my uncles restuarant (bbq delight :D ) and i was just walking around and i noticed there is a audio shop ...so i went in...and thats when i went crazy

when i came out after 2hours i had a brown carton box that wieghed over 35kg!!!..and a amp that wieghd almost 10kg!!!...plus wiring ofcourse....soo what did i get????

1- 2rockford fosgate PL2 woofers with enclouser from fosgate as well!!..the woofers where pre-installed in the enclouser..both woofers are giving out a 800watts RMS (thats tight)

2- Rockfard fosgate 600-1monoblock Amplifier...the amp gives out 600watts RMS

3- Monster cableing for the battery to amp and gold platted monster cableing for the RC..

In total it cost around 3700Dirhams!!!...it seems expensive and maybe not even worth it!!..i was having second thoughts at buying the system..thats until the owner (a indian lady, who was gettin annoyed with my nagging) took me to her demo car!!!...she had the same setup as me but without a capictor!!!...guys it was wild..it was crazy....it was OFF THE HOOK...i felt my skin was ripping off when she put the bass up on the bass controler (which comes with the amp)..she said if i put in a capictor with my system it will be perfect...well i got a 2farad capictor from tsunami when i came last time, so i guess i am good!! at the same time while i was there, there was guy installing the exact same system in his car as well!!!...i waited for him to finish so i could here the final sound..and like before it was WILD....

Anyway i wanted to ask you neo if you have heard of SERVENVEGA (i think thats how you spell it)....the guy that was installing the new system in his car was selling his old woofer!!..i have heard this woofer before in some guys car..it was crazy..its a tiny woofer with crazy bass..with that woofer he had a fusion compitition amp!!!..i asked him why dont you use this amp for the fosgate woofers??..he said it will blow the subs!! :S ..i was kinda awwed when he said that!!..he told me he wants to sell it for 2000Dirhams (woofer and amp together!!) ...i asked a friend back in qatar and he was literly begging me to bring it back with me!!..lets see what happens..i just cant wait to get back and install the new stuff....i will be posting pics up soon on UAEBOOST of my new setup!!!...thanks for reading guy!!!..please let me no if you have heard of this system and if it is good...i dont no bcoz i am used to my JBL tubes and after hearing fosgate it was all together diffrent experience!!...well let me no what you think guys!!..take care and neo i hope you will like this the MOST....cheers guys!!

Did u say PL2 210 or 212..
10 inch subs or 12 inch subs.
Has 800W Peak and 400W RMS.
Dual Voice coil with 4 Ohm load in series parallel connection

Amp must be
P600.1bd , bd class amp... its new!!
600W Rms @ 2 ohms <<--- try to achieve this target
325W Rms @ 4 Ohms

Hmm that means to get all the 600W u need to wire the Dual coil subs in such a way that the total impedance is 2 ohms.

Hope ur getting this installed by someone who knows his work.
Dont get the dual voice coils to be jumbled... it will ruin the subs.

If ur gonna get anything better than before, its gonna be becoz of the quality and design of the system and trust me.. u will love this....

And Yes I am pretty familiar with Cerwin Vega systems.
I didnt get a picture of what u were meaning by 2000 Dhs system...
Get the specs only then u can know whether its worth it. Else it is subjective.

And cerwin vega could be compared to fosgate!!!
What you have right now from RF is jst the entry level stuff. Very decent sound system. Plus ur in a higher class, not them silly brands like JVC or kenwood...
Dont underestimate the power of this american brand.

Take care...

hey neo thanks for the post....well i got the PL2 212...there 12inch subs giving out 800w RMS...its actualy each sub giving out 400w RMS..i have to PL2 212 woofers in a fosgate box..soo together it is 800w RMS...

As for the wiring...well i was watching the technicians doing there work..n the wiring they did was weird i never saw that type of wiring....so i asked them how i should wire it all up...they told me that in the amp i should do a bridge connection..and in the woofers i should do a parrellal connection...i took pics just for reference...n when u where saying i just got a entry level system...bro i dont think thats correcr...fosgate gots 3levels...stage1, stage2, stage3...i bought the stage2 woofers and amp!!..i couldnt afford the stage3 bcoz the amp for that cost almost 4000dirhams!!...they had 3demo cars at the shop...each demo car outlined the 3stages of setups!!....they where all good...stage3 was just mad!!!...but anyway i am sure i wil be satisfied with what i got HOPFULLY!!!...i am keeping my fingers crossed about the wiring..i hope it goes correctly

as for the cerwin vega.....well there was dude installing fosgate on his ride...and he was taking out his old system..so i asked him what is it!!!..he told its a cervin wega woofer with a fusion amp!!...i was like nice nice...basically he was selling the cervin woofer for about 600dhms and the amp for 1400dhms...he said the amp is a compitition amp...he said the fosgate woofers will blow if i attach this amp to them!!..soo it must be some good shit...as for the numbers well...i dont no them exactly..but i will find out...i want to buy the wooferr but i have no place to install it in my car!!...the fosgate will take my hole trunk space!!...soo i am having second thoughts about it!!

lets just hope everything comes out to be perfect....i had a question..i wanted to buy this material that will stop the jarring (metal vibrating) in the car..cz i no with my new setup my car will make alot of viberating sounds..please if you no where i can get it then hook me up bcoz the shop i went to yesterday doesnt have any in stock and it will come at the end of the month!!..soo that sucks!!.....thanks for your info neo...you have realy helped me out alot on this!!...BIG HANDS OF APPLAUD FOR NEO GUYS!!!! :D .....Salam

Hey its my commitment to this forum and my promise to sam....
I will try and do wat i can do the best... :)

Tamu,
I serously cant help you with the Jarring becoz these things are worked on case to case basis. On high spl system they use these dynamats to remove panel vibration... But that wouldnt save ur from the other loop holes like air pockets in ur trunk. Fill them up like i said earlier... and take necessary action.

Dont take my word for this, but people even use TAR on the surface, i mean they have thick TAR coating to take care of this issue... trust me.. this is a nightmare for every specialist....

And most of the time, people dont even realize why there is jarring....

Anyways... my feel about ur adventure....

Seriously U went from 30% cool to 90% cool on my scale when u shifted to RF system and related equipment.

RF has two kinda Subs, Punch and Power Series.
You made an outstanding choice by going with the Enclosure series which has a punch series sub in it.

Punch cud be considered as level 1 and level 2
Power cud be considered as level 2 and level 3.

For example lets look at a Power series sub which has 1000RMS capability and 2000W peak handling power.... And it weights 28Kgs... Jst a sub weight 28 kgs... imagine!!!

Now when the guy said a RF sub would burn out... it doesnt mean RF has no sub which can take that power.... It probably means the RF subs hez seen wouldnt match up with the amp.
And this sub wud still cost more than Dhs 4000 here.... And i can be this wudnt be available in UAE.... :)

Now lemme talk about RF amps.

Punch is level 1 amps.
Power small size is level 2 and level 3 amps.
Power ultimate series includes level 3 and competition series amps
There is another timeless limited edition too.. no need to talk about it....

RF amps are bridgable, i mean RF competition power series amps can be daisy chained to produce massive amount of destruction.. we are talkin 5000W or more....

I am on ur side.... i am trying to jst let u know RF is huge and u have made a good choice...

The only reason why RF aint happening here is the distributers are cut throats... thats exactly why u need to tell me the price of each unit u brought.,....

Now please dont add any other kind of subs or enclosures, these subs wud be adequate for decent listening pleasure... the only thing u wud miss is spl competitions....

Enjoy.... and dont worry.. i believe ur people can set this up.... let me know once its done.... and if u need any info.. hit me up...

Take care.

its 2am in the morning..i just got back to my hotel and the 1st damn thing i did was come to UAEBOOST :P ..hahahaha...

anyways neo thanks for your insite into my NEW SYSTEM :D ...your right about all the things u said above...but still im going to argue with you and tell you that my system is stage 2...bcoz the stupid taped cardboard box that its sitting in clearly says STAGE 2...and even the frickin manual says its STAGE 2:P ..loool...but you would no better obviously..soo lets just say your right!!..FOR NOW THAT IS...

as for the pricing..well i checked on the official fosgate site and i guess i got a fair deal!!..being a paki i no how to bargain pretty well bro!! ;) so the pricing goes like this

P2L-212 woofer (its to woofers in a enclouser like you said) ..price 1850dhms

P600.1BD amplifier..price 2190dhm

Monster Wiring kit + monster RC cable ..price 500dhm

TOTAL = 4540dhms

seems expensive right!!.. i told the lady (owner of HSV) in urdu keep dreaming i am not intrested...anyways soo we scrapped everything...she started asking me where i was from and bla bla bla and where i live right now. Turns out she knows my child hood friends big brother who has a audio shop in qatar and is buying MTX woofers from her!!...thats when she said "how can i rip you off" ...soo in the ending neo i did get ripped off (but i dont feel it bcoz i am damn happy)..and i payed her about 3700dhms!!...not bad if you think about it...when comparing the prices on the net i was getting it for almost similiar price so i guess it was fair deal..what do you think??

as for the jarring...i no of dynamite...a guy that was putting a similiar system to mine was installing dynamite in his hole trunk bay so the jarring would stop...i heard his system without the dynamite and after with the dynamite...BRO THERE WAS NO JARRING AT ALL...the lady was giving me the dynamite for 185 per role!!..not bad i guess..she said i would only need 1role for my civic...UNFORTUNATLY YOU CANT HAVE EVERYTHING YOU WANT RIGHT???...she finished her last role of dynamite on the guying installing a similiar system to mine...she said she would get more at the end of the month..i cant wait till then :(

as for the power series...well she had the power series woofers there which was giving out more then 1000w RMS..they werent that expensive...it was around i think 2700 or almost 3000dhm...cant realy remember correctly....however the amp was almost 4700dhm's if i am correct...i couldnt afford that soo i was like il go for the punch...like i said before she had a test car for all 3stages...power was the 3rd stage and it was crazy...any who expect some pictures on sunday from me!!!...

BTW il let you in on a little secret i found on the web...and if you think about it...IT COULD WORK....get a tube of that stuff people use to line cracks in sinks and in the tub..i forgot what it is called...i just had it in my head..if i remember the name il tell you what its called...its like a white glue sort of think which is water proof...now if you use this and just line the area's where there are airholes you have got a cheap effective way of stopping the jarring..i thought about it and i think it will work bro!!..tell me what you think..its something like polyester!!..I THINK THATS WHAT ITS CALLED...

anyways thanks for the insite NEO...i am off to bed...this was a great experience for me...i just cant wait to install this damn thing!!!..tc n again THANKS FOR THE HELP BRO....Salam

U didnt get ripped off...
RF has its own class and like i said you r now a classic.

U must be talking about silicone tubes!!!

I talk about RF becoz i had this training from RF guys...

And Cerwin Vega definitely has much powerfuls subs than RF...

:)

But nothing in this world is much bigger than the MTX mega monster!!!

ufff...whatever i doo il never have the best system!! :P ...loool...now your saying MTX mega monster is the best in the world......someone dig me a hole i want to die :P anyways i think i have seen this woofer before...its a huge woofer i think over 20inches right???...well at HSV they had mtx woofers inside boxs..they had 2woofers in 1box...the guy that was selling me his cervin wega woofer said he had the same MTX woofers in his car but he said they suxed compared to the fosgate....and hes like the blew up or sumthing like that..hes like fosgate is the best....:P

as for the cerwin vega..i have heard of this brand..and i no how powerful they are..i remember sum guy that used to live in my street ...he had a sum old crappy 80's model pajero or sumthing..but he had a sound system that was just crazy...i asked him what it is 1day..he said cerwin vega strocker!!.i was like ok wotever man sounds like shit..but when i sat inside and lisnted to it....omg it was nothing like iv heard before...he had like 2amplifiers running the damn thing...and the box took his hole car space!! :S ...

ok soo lets forget about everythin neo...you tell me...if you where ever to get a system...what would you get exactly..what make, what amps??..what wires??....tell me A-Z what you would get!!!...i want to no whats cooking in that brain of urs :D ....waiting for your reply buddy

Hey Tamu,
I never saw your reply until Now.

I didnt say MTX is the ultimate brand. But they have the heaviest and biggest sub currently.

I used to feel the same, damn when will I have the best system.
Until I learned, the best system is subjective.
Meaning, something best to you might not be my cup of tea.

Anyways you wouldnt find me having a very high end system in my car.
But I will somehow try to make it unique.

So far I have JVC DVD player.
I brought it because It can play
DVDs, Mp3, DivX.
It has 3 pair of Pre outs.
One additional Audio Out.
One Digital Audio out.
One Audio In
One Video In.
AH!! Add the USB memory input too.

Seven channel equilizer and decent look.

Roughly 900 Bucks.

Yesterday installed Boston Component speaker system in the front and Boston Ovals in the rear. I am already stuck with the panel vibration.

These are just running off the HU.

This is what I would do mostly.

Have a special Amp to drive these Speakers. (Not Decided)
A Single 12 Inch Kicker L5 Sub with enclosure.
A single Kicker amp to drive the sub.
A 1 Farad Capacitor.
Custom built trunk with lighting for these.

My Aim,
Have decent bass inside the car... SQL setup thought. Not SPL
The trunk should look special and different.
Have unique brand combinations.
Keep the cost as low as possible without cutting into the quality.
MAke sure that who ever sees the work asks about the people who did the job.

:)

This is a slow process and might not even move forward unless they increase my salary package. :P

hey neo how are you...just red your post..i thought you disapeared. Anyway i got my woofers last week..i sent them by courier bcoz it would be to expensive to take with me buy plane...any how i got them and installed them two days later!!...

it took a hole day to install..usualy it wouldnt take that long but i wanted quality work..i didnt want my wiring to be seen or anything!!the work went great..i also installed new neon lights in the interior of the car to give it a better look with the new soundsystems :) ..hehehe..

ANYWAYYY when the installation was complete we started the car to listen to the new bass!!..i was disapionted to tell you the truth..i litterly got depressed!!!..the bass was crap!!i thought i got played at or somthing...however we then realized it takes the capictor to charge ...it could take usualy 2-4hours for it to charge!!...so we gave it time...in the meantime we finished the last little things....when we thought it was time to try it again we turned the car on and listend...but the gain up on thr controler and kept everything else flat!!....and neo...I WAS SPEECHLESSS....my head was bobbing back and forth.it was mad !!...but anyways everything is going great now!!!...

i found a new HU which i want to buy even though i already have a brand new poineer HU...the new one is also poineer but its only giving out 5volts through the pre-out...i dont no if you have seen this HU it has a slidable face on it ...its supposdly to be the best hU for proper sound systems..its damn expensive as well!!...anyway i will be going for that as well!!..i am flying to dubia tonight so hope to see you all soon!!....you take care and wish you best of luck with your system!!...Salam!!

Dude, listen... First of all i dont understand why whole idea of charging the capacitor for 2 hours... If its done rite, that wont be the case. Never heard of such thing. I mean even therotically capacitor doesnt take tat long to charge.
Whatever, ur happy with the system, i am happy!!

And regarding the HU, dont even think about changing the HU becoz of Volt difference in pre-out...
Only change if u really want another HU which looks better or has more features..

By the way some brands do talk about run in time for subwoofers and speakers.. jst like new engines, they need to be played on few hours to get there...

Take care... have fun!
