Is it necessary to change stock head unit for amp

I suggest you change the HU if you can. If it's the stock wakala HU then you will need to add on a small device for the pre-out (left & right) for the HU. Thats the only way!!! When my HU broke in my old civic I was running on the stock stereo with that adapter.....Neo can give you more info on that..

yea bro, even i think u should change the hu if u can. what is the reason why you dont want to change it?? is it cuz of its looks?? or the light?? or anyother reason?

Most of the old amps support speaker line it.
Check your amp for line in options.
There should be RCA in
There should also be high voltage in (The pin type varies with models)
IF you have high voltage in option you can connect the rear speaker wires directly to the amp as line in option. No need to change HU.
IF you dont have the above option then u should use a converted which will convert speaker line to low voltage RCA out...
Check and let us know...
