Question about a banned game (GTA4)

Hey guys,
I've learnt that this game (grand Theft Auto 4) is banned from UAE, but for sale in the duty free. Is it illegal to buy it from the states and have one of my friends of states ship it to me?

Is it illegal to only sell it in the country, but you can buy it from the states and have it shipped from the states by a friend?

Lemme know, cause I need to play it! btw this is for a 360! I bought my American 360 with me.

DVDs are not a big issue at airport baggage checks. All they are looking for are CDs in bulk and those containing explicit content. The game is officially banned here yet available at the Duty Free, if 'here' is what they meant as only souq Naif... I don't know.

I bought the game from Souq which is also included in the 'here' and is a completely legal organization. They will call you on your cell phone to confirm if the CDs you're selling are original, but does not consider to restrict an auction of a game that is banned by the LAW.

Only suggestion I can give you is - feel free to have the game shipped. If the laws were so strict, souq Naif wouldn't have existed.

if you look for GTA4 in the souq's i am sure you will find it. Goverment might have banned it from big dept stores like virgin etc but i am sure you can still buy it locally in places. If its for sale in duty free then i say get someone comming in to the country to grab it for you. If not then yes you should have no problem getting it sent from a friend in America. No one and i mean NO ONE can go through your package and check if its a GTA4 game, lool.

Is this available for the PS2? If so you can get a copy (not an original) at Hamid Center in AD for 20 dirhams. Those shops also sell banned games... if you're willing to wait for a sales guy to vanish and show up again 30 minutes later with it. and only if the shop keepers have done business with you before.

But it's available. Hell, they sell PORN at these stores. so yeah, a game is the least of their wrries if ever caught.

thanks for the inpout guys. This is only for the 360, and also the ps3. But I am concerned for the 360 version. My xbox is the american version (bought it down with me when i flew here) so I don't know if souq would be the best way to go. The versions and regions might be different.

I will definitly get my buddy to buy one off the shelf in the states and ship me one. Just hope they don't open the package, see it, run a check to see if its banned and keep it lol

Not tried multiplayer yet but that is one hell of a game!
Going to start Metal Gear in few days.
