^ this actually reminds of the spies who got arrested in Alpha Telecom in Lebanon for spying for Israel for more than a decade... So imagine what is happening with all the information going outside this country and back through a random computer on another continent... They have a point worrying about it..

UAE is worried because all of the data on the BB from the people in the UAE is stored on an external server in Canada. The UAE government (Etisalat or DU) does not have any access to this information. They have requested RIM for information regarding certain things and could not get a straight answer off RIM. All they have done now is threaten RIM to stop the services hoping that RIM will provide access or possibly let UAE have a server. This has been achieved in China for example.

So hopefully the TRA will have its way and it will be a win win situation for all of us. I would rather trust Etisalat with my information than RIM (in Canada or the States). But that is just me.

Did I make any sense?
Hmm, does make sense.

Nothing beats the BB in terms of ruggedness. Not a flimsy iPhone either. We have both types of users at work, and more than half the iPhone users have 'water damage' which isn't covered by warranty. On the other hand, the only thing BB users complain of is their track ball dying.

We're talking about business users, not tweens with the silly social package. Business users just need a tool for emails, and they're usually clumsy.

And an administrative nightmare. Unless I go for an iPhone Enterprise application.

So after 12 months the mobile is your property right, after the contract finishes?

I would assume so. My Account Manager said these offers will only be available should things go South and BB is banned in October. If not, we'll continue using BB.

I have an iphone already. I guess I will have to dust it and think about using it in the future. Wonder if the email data limit remains unlimited when you have the iphone.

Roj and Kartoos make good sense. i think in the end, RIM will fold and give in to TRA's wishes for a private server. After all, if i owned RIM, i certainly wouldn't want my product banned from one of the richest, most luxurious places in the world. Lets all hope for the best *fingers crossed*
