Heh, I honestly think it's a bit overhyped, and I hope that Apple better lives up to the expectations..

The american version doesnt support 3G and that sucks. 95% of the phones on our market supports 3G net. But the european version of Iphone that will be released in our market this christmas. It might be overhyped, but its price aint overhyped, I believe its a cool phone and I would enjoy the MP3 features in it :) And the big touch screen.. 8)

If you look at the HTC touch, it looks more or less the same. And HTC is supported locally by iMate.

As i said, apple over estimated things a bit I guess.. It's like dubai style, first announcing the worlds biggest tower, the worlds biggest mall, the worlds biggest ... , and then delivering it. You'll have X % of the people who are sick of waiting, and buy something else. And you drive expectations way too high.

I once went to a concert of Red Hot Chilly peppers with VERY high expectations, and i was dissapointed afterwards.. i just expected too much. I guess the iPhone -though it is a nice phone- will have the same fate.

(from engadget)

Main findings of the iPhone:

* The mobile version of OS X or whatever it is the iPhone runs takes up 700MB of the device's capacity. Damn son!
* There's no way to cut, copy, or paste text! WHOA! Big, big mistake.
* No A2DP support. That, friends, is such a huge bummer right there. (A2DP is bluetooth audio streaming)
* music can't be used as a ringtone -- even if it's just a raw MP3. No additional ringtones will be sold at launch.
* On a PC the iPhone syncs with Outlook for calendars AND addresses!
* It supports Exchange in some capacity, according to Walt, but he doesn't exactly say how.
* Pogue again confirms document file reading -- but not editing -- for PDF, Word, and Excel (only).
* Adobe Flash support is officially out. It's just not in the browser. Neither is there any other kind of embedded video support. Sorry everybody, that's that.
* It will take snaps, but won't record video. How can Apple love YouTube as much as it does and not realize cellphone-shot movies make up a sizeable chunk of the crazy crap you find on there?
* Call quality is only "average".

So, let's see where this puppy goes. :D

And more, from gizmodo:

What the iPhone doesn't have:

• Games
• Instant Messaging
• Picture messages (MMS)
• Video recording
• Voice recognition or voice dialing
• One-size-fits-all headset jack (May have to buy an adapter for certain headphones)

Though I think it's still a break through in handheld computing..

hey guys.... i'm a bit confused... like just wanted to ask wether the iphone will have a camera or no???

i read an interview of someone who made iphone.... he said that it'll be the best IPOD ever made since 2001..... and it'll also give us an access to the internet ! (Y)

and one more thing the iphone can play videos, but you won't get a video service that will allow you to download videos on the iPhone ~~~

Hahaha..

Nah, it's rather the "is it a justified hype" ?

A friend of mine is going to the states.. just wondering how easy it would be to unblock the iPhone..

Guess I am late to reply but I agree 100% with Mikeh, nothing much to expect of iPhone, its going to be a big flop.
