the 8900 doesn't have 3G, and even though its nice and compact its just kinda pointless without that feature.
The Bold on the other hand has all the features combined from all BB's. However, if you want a bold in a cruves casing then BB has came out with the best option...the "tour 9630". The only negative thing in it is no wifi...but seriously...I haven't used wifi yet on my bb and i've had it for couple weeks now...
I am waiting for my local cellphone provider to bring in the tour on GSM network. once I get it I will trade it in asap!!

BB = Best Bull**** Money Can Buy, No Actually That Should Be Said For VERTU.

No Offense But I Personally Find Them Disgusting.BB's Is Only For Those People Whose Life N Death Depends On Emails.

iPhone 3GS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^ I've owned an iphone from late Nov 2007, and the BB is the 1st phone I bought after that. If you want me to be honest, I sorta got bored after the iphone recently. I know it inside, I can jailbreak it with my eyes closed. The apps, cracked apps..every app there was I have downloaded and used......It just got so boring after a while.....
Maybe I am liking the BB more because its something different and has more to offer to in different ways..But don't get me wrong...the Iphone is one damn cool phone..it was the base for many new phones to focus on......

iPhone is a gimmick, and the novelty wears off after a while, and you end up feeling like an arse for spending so much on paper weight.

bb's are amazing for texting, its not like the iphone where u can install lots and tons of apps n stuff, iphone beats bb when it comes to apps, but when its texting bb's messenger and the windows live messenger and internet usage is much better than the iphone, so i guess each has its usage !

and yes u do have to be gentle on the roller ball, cuz if u are tough on it , it will get messed up , mine is fine till now, its a little cranky, but its still running fine, nothing a service at any store cant fix !!

If you have a BlackBerry SIM, you can use the IM to send free messages to anyone with a BlackBerry subscription. Never tried it out myself though so I could be wrong.

BlackBerry services in the UAE use GPRS/EDGE and not 3G thus the 8900 works just fine :)

Its called the BB Messenger..Basically every BB has a unique "PIN" which makes your BB unique to you. This service requires a data plan, and its basically like chatting for free (not so much like texting). You can sit anywhere in the world and text your friends in other countries for free...Its a cool idea, but at the same time I have MSN messenger running as well so as soon as someone sends me something i get a "beep"..loool...

My only concern is if you loose ur BB do you still get to keep your PIN and transfer it to your new phone? because the PIN is almost like a cellphone number!...Ohh well.....

NOP ... i dont think u can transfer ur PIN no. but if u back it up u can reload ur new bb wid ur previous backup which also includes pin contacts ... i think !!!!
