Right, Hello all,

I am currently on the look out for a car.

I was thinking about a 350Z but at the moment I may be heading up to RAK a few times a week from Dub so I think the miles would just kill it money wise so I have been thinking about a modded car OR a car to be modded as I know many modded cars are a bit dodgy due to sh*t quality work.

Seeing as I am not gonna get a 350Z I am going to get a motorbike - 749 maybe, R1, 600RR, who knows so that leaves my budget around 60K. Could go higher but where do you stop?

Always liked Supras, Pug GTIs (had one since I was 18 in the UK), Corrado's, Skylines.

Something a bit fruity. I would also go for something a good bit cheaper if there was something 'right' to have some fun in for a year or so as I will probably load the miles on anyway.

Any ideas?

Hey!

Corrado eh? - i remeber the first time i rode in one.... 190hp - VR6 was smooth.....

I think there is one for sale (see link below) - but they are all imports and parts will be difficult. :?

http://www.souq.com/item.php?id=2245372 ... ge=1&type=

his number is 050-6541906

Otherwise - since ur already a fan of Pugs - get a Pug RC ! - u could probably pick up a low mileage 2005-06 for under 50K. 2.0L 180hp is decent! - Or if u want to up ur budget to around 70K - you could buy it new. :)

Heres another example:

...or u could just get a Civic and put stickers all over it with a big spoiler and pretend u have a fast car

We've had discussions about that many times :? a Search
with the right keywords would bring them out :) Yet, a clean Supra, original LHD or an already Dubai-regd Supra = no problem registering in any emirate at all.

Cheers for the replys boys.

Always fancied a Corrado so may have a looksee at that one and for that money if it does me for a year then all good.

Pug RC is also another good call. Bargain for that kind of money.

Not sure what the chat is regarding registering a car (I know fu*k all). Basiclly my residency and licence are Shrjah issued. Does this make a difference?

Civic and stickers...... maybe not, although I did hear that if you put the stickers in the right place it gave you an extra 5 BHP.

Also what is the chat with Evo's and Scoobys over here? Could maybe stretch for the right one. How much do they go for generally? I have heard of this place - 100 Dunes Cars or something but only briefly saw the sticker and cannot find them on google.

Cheers boys

Hey!

Scoobies are hard to come by - i hear you can find some in Al-Awir (the used car market!)... Unfortuneately the dealer here doesnt bring any WRX's or STi's down, soo unlikely u will find one....

EVO's u can come by easily - But a word of caution, people dont buy Evos to dilly dally at 60km/hr all day... if u get what i mean... just make sure the car isnt raped.... Mitsubishi does sell these cars, but without warranty..

The garage you saw was not 100 dunes but 1000 Dunes :) - they specialise in Evo's.

The problem is that in ur price range, the Evo is still hard to get. an Evo 7 /8 ~ 2001-03 can cost you up to 85K if its in a good condition....

Do u really want to daily drive an Evo though????

PM'ed you too :)

Cheers for the info.

Just shook hands on that Corrado. Figured that it was only 10% of my rather not set in stone budget so I might as well get it while I am deciding and then get a nice bike as well.

Test drove it a few times and all the toys work and it certainly likes to go!

So now I may have to 'tweak' it a bit! Anyone know where I can get some aftermarket bits? Nothing too serious just some styling and a few things to make it breath a little easier - filter, cat replacement pipe etc etc.

Also does anyone know if TT or A4 wheels fit (and if they do anywhere who does 2nd hand alloys) as I HATE the BBS style lattice alloys. Shame as they have gread Goodyears on em!

Hey !
Congrats on the new car! (Y) - im sure you will suprise more than a couple porsches on the road. !

For an exhaust - if u trully want the best - get it shipped in.
There are a couple of places that would be able to do it for you locally - custom stuff.

One is Fox Exhausts and the other is .... cant remember - but i can et it to u by today evening - they have Tanabe Tips and mufflers and do custom pipiing.

Problem is - BOTH of these will cost you - probably 1/3 the price of ur car... :| :? - easily 2500 - 4000AED - add more to that if u want to add a high flow cat or test pipe.

For alloys - if u know ur stuff and have the time, you can hunt around the hundreds of stores in Sharjah - otherwise Performance Garage can get you Rotas or any others.... (but it can be costly for others)

I suggest having a look at Evolve Garage - they got some good ones (Kei i think - good prices). Evolve could also get you a BMC filter that i hear is not bad on VW's

Or try Motor Sport Wheels (MSW) that can get u BBS, RS, etc....

Try and ask on the VW - audi forum - i am sure they could help you out! :)

Hey,

Unfortunatly my deal on the last Corrado fell thru. Kinda pissed off, however, I did then find a sweeeeeeet 94 Corrado in great condition with low miles etc but it won't change into 3rd.

Does anyone know any decent gearbox places I can talk to?

vw gearboxs are a b**ch to fix especially if it is a legacy box. You could try Octane ME to see if they can sort you out.
