Bwahahahahaha! That was too funny.TNT wrote:LOL! A turbine for 950
How long is it supposed to last? Is it 'disposable'
I think you buy it in 2 parts, one 950 for the disposable "head" and like 3,000 for the Gelette Mach III base!
hahaha ... ok im not a communist nor do i love the chinese ... but they can make some really good stuff at times ... like i said someone who knows the ins and outs of turbos can actually judge whether it is good or not !!! ... they are known for making the bigger brands run for their money ... neve no this turbo cud b decent enuf ...anyone wid good info i think then we should try !!!
i remember when i was looking for a turbo for my civic. i went down to a shop called tazweed in sharjah and the guy there was giving me a garret turbo for around 1000aed, but when you add on all the other stuff like the manifold, gaskets, intercooler, BOV the cost was running down to around 3500aed if i remember correctly. the turbo itself usually isnt expensive its the other stuff in the package that make the setup look expensive!!

stay away from that crap , thai or chinese or even brazilian turbos are
all crap , the housings them selves may look good , but what matters
most is the CHRA ( core house rotating assembly ) , the material which
the blades are made of plus balancing the blades at extremely hi RPMs
more than 100K rpm , those two factors plays a major role about
durability & longevity of the turbo , plus other things as well ( like
bearings design , housings material , design , A/R ratio , trim , water cooled
or not , etc ) , the more complex & more exotic the materials , the
more expensive it gets

It is a perfect deal. Especially if you are planning to change your engine to a juice grinder.
very well said stone-head...we installed a turbo kit on a 98 accord almost a year ago using a made in china t3/t4 turbo...when we're tunning it at 8 psi everything was perfectly fine, got a near perfect AF readings, pull was good....but when increased the boost to 12psi...thats when all hell broke lose....our accord turned into a fogging machine, exhuast was puffing clouds of smoke...I dont know if the craftsmanship and quality has improved now...but in my case...thats the first and last time I will use a made in china turbo...justmy2cents

ProjectG, did u investigate the root cause of the issue... maybe your engine was not ready to take in so much boost... I am interested in ur project...
But Honestly I dont understand why people think boosting its simple as buying a turbo and sticking it with superglue would give 69 HP.
Unless is a excellent bolt on KIT from specialist , tuning and boosting is a special job and requires special attention.

Sorry if i didnt made my post clear....the turbo gave way not the engine...bushing leaked out...compressor wheel fins busted...Engine is fine...and all things needed for a turbo set-up is considered. Injectors, reflashed ECU, tuned proper AFs...and thats what we do at our shop here...custom turbo set-up...although we specialize in mitsu's not hondas.
