My ECUFlash specialist tuner from Singapore is scheduled to make a stopover in Dubai from 6th April 2007 (Friday) to 8 April 2007 (Sunday).
He specializes in Evos only, and will tune on ECUFlash. For those of you not familiar with ECUFlash, it is an open source software that allows tuners to directly access and tune on the factory ECU.
Unlike traditional standalone ECUs (e.g. Motec, Autronic, LINK, APEXi PowerFC, HKS FCon VPro) and piggybacks (e.g. GReddy eManage, Unichip, etc) which require additional time and cost to install and setup, the ECUFlash software is free, so you only pay for tuning services, nothing more.
The necessary tuning equipment (wideband O2, OBD-II cables) will be provided by my tuner. Owners will need ensure that there is sufficient fuel and to provide a list of all existing engine mods on the car.
While tuning can be done on stock Evos, it is more beneficial for Evos that have an upgraded fuel pump, boost controllers, open pod filters, etc. These should be installed before the tuning session, so that a specialized map can be developed to optimize the set of mods on the car.
This tuning is for Evo VII to IX only and includes MR models.
Those interested in signing up for this custom tune session can PM me directly to schedule a session so I can download your existing ECU ROM and send them to my tuner to prepare the appropriate definition files required for tuning each car.
Tuning will be done on-road only. Dyno tuning can be arranged separately
Each tuning session takes between 2 to 3 hours per car and costs AED1500.
This includes a 30-minute post-tune debrief on what was done, along with an explanation of the map and logs. Custom tuning of electronic boost controllers to optimize boost behavior, power and torque with the custom map is also available for an additional AED500 for those who sign up for custom tuning.
We will need a minimum of 5 cars for this custom tuning session. Slots are limited to 3 cars per day, by appointment.
Evo custom tuning weekend! - 6 April to 8 April 2007
Tiburons are easily tuned with Dastek Unichip and GReddy eManage. Just a question of using the right harness and having a good tuner.
Generally, tuning works on the same principle for all cars, so a good tuner will be able to tune the tib easily.
