hi im planning to buy 18inch wheels. will there be any rubbing. my car is not lowered. wht size tires will be suitable for this rims. if i install lowering springs then will there be any problems.

As long as you keep the rolling diameter the same or close to OEM, you will face hardy any issues related to rubbing. also, make sure the offsets are close to OEM.

tires should be 35-40 profile with 18's
i think 17's will be better, cause car will be sitting high with big 18's and you won't be able to lower much even if you wanted to in the future.

do u guys know any place where i can get the rims checked for bents/damage before buying as its used rims

Get 215/40-18 tires if you want your speedo to be accurate.
40mm is very low offset for the Civic, these wheels will stick out and maybe even rub. You should look for wheels with a 50mm offset.

the guy from whom i was goin to buy these rims says that since its 8" wide that 40mm offset is perfect for civic 2007. is it true?

50 is perfect.

stock offset is +55 right? if your not lowered +40 should be ok, they might stick out a bit but will not rub. i would suggest a mild drop with aftermarket wheels, else your car will look like a 4x4
