if Yes pics pls...

2. finding the tires you want to stretch with needs a lot of test fittings....so Yeah...USED tires for now

3. do you have the camber kits?

4. You also might have to Roll/Shave your fenders...so a repaint and body work is also invloved...

start off with the rims and look for tires
Hey man.,

So I'm all done with the kit & the rim, only part pending is approval from
RTA or CID Police.

RTA gave me 3 options.

- Get NOC from the dealer [Shit didn't work]
- Get NOC form CID [Haven't tried it yet]
- Bring car to any desired test location before modifying to see if they
can approve it. [Waiting for failure from the second]

What do you say in this case, any experience.

I have chosen Between these:

Why do you need the approval from RTA? I don't think it is necessary, unless you're planning on changing the look of the car entirely, so that people can't tell what car it is..
Maybe someone with more info can help

Well, I'm on D2 Coils. And I also stay in Sharjah!
I guess because my car is not common, everyone assume it is low by the manufacturer..

I've been stopped for exhaust/engine inspections only, and I even registered the car with Eibach springs, before I got the coils. I think they only care about safety and emissions, so you shouldn't stretch the tires when you register the car.

I've been wondering, maybe it isn't a good idea to stretch the tires in the UAE. Especially because of the hot weather, normal air would expand, and the tire won't be safe anymore (it's never safe to stretch a tire anyway). I had 8.5" wheels on 215s before, not a crazy stretch, but looked good! (Y)

Hey thanx for the input.....

I decided not to go stretched due the very reason, weather....I'll go for low profile...

As for D2, whats the ride like, average, good or better ?, hows damper, stiff or adjustable, Does the D2 come with any camber for the front ?, I checked online there is one with camber for the front only....

The ride is stiff  But the dampening is adjustable, I just don't really care if it's stiff or not 8-)
You can get used to it, but honestly the ride is fine as long as you're CRUISING at 80-100 kph, you'll only feel the stiffness when you corner or drive on a bad road/bumps. The ride will become bouncy when you drive at speeds of 120+kph. Now I especially hate driving on these (the yellow lines).. You'll feel them as if they were mini bumps

There is another thing, bags over coilovers. I'm currently looking into doing this, I still need to figure out a few things.

The basic idea is that you replace the springs on the coilovers with air bags, and if you adjust your coils to whatever height, at 0PSI you'll be driving on your coils only! This should be much cheaper than getting a complete air kit.

Yeah I read bout them too lately, they are a good alternatively, I dont mind, coilover or anything that doesnt require constantly removing wheel to adjust height....its KO...but till then we have to survive...

If only those bags over coils caon be controlled, internally....its a yes yes...

1. Theres nothing so cheap about these bags over coil overs  ...at max your still seeing at 6-8k of input. ( the only cheaper option is IF you yourself could make the setup, which im currently in the works with) :(

2. no matter if you have PROPER airbag/Air cylinders/ Hydro/ coil over airbags, YOU will still need a whole kit that involves an Air cylinder, Air Valves, Compressor, Air lines and a few more things
not to forget a person who has good experience with them

3. Air suspensions are ONLY controlled from the inside

4. RTA will FAIL it immediately

5. Lets say you have stretched your tires and slammed your car (Y) ...if your in sharjah donot expect any "understanding" from the police here  ...i recently had my 6th offense and was impounded also :( ...thankfully i got it out in a few hours

6. Bags over coils are widely on the internet and are being sold as kits...their as good as plug and play...go for those (Y) (Y)

iv had coil overs for 2 years now and all iv got are 7 tickets from PIGS

im very against coil overs (living in sharjah)

1. RTA will fail Cambers or Airbags ?
2. What was the fine amount ?
3. If, impounded for how long ?
4. 7 tickets for coilovers ?, were you too low as compared to standard, Pigs were oinking in Sharjah or Dubai ?
5. I read if such, fines, impounds happen one can actually file a case against Sharjah police due to Sharjah Police jurisdiction over Dubai Plates, don't know if all that is bull..:?
Sharjah Police
Dubai police
AbuDhabi police
Rest of the eimrates Police, also,

Another question, do height adjustment with coilovers needs be by removal of wheel or there is another way, something like a lever or something .... ?

On an adjustable note, there is also a Hydraulic Adjustable Ride Height from KW Coilovers, with in/out car cabin adjustability [Remote Control] sold separately as a kit for OEM coilovers like Ferrari and others, but with custom coilovers it cannot be purchased as a seperate kit, it has to be purchased with their coilovers....unsure about price...was reading about it yesterday...

Thanks for the input...valuable info...

200aed with 7 days impound

I went all out low...and why wouldnt I? its my car for godssake I should be able to do what I want with it  the "OINKING" happens in sharjah...in dubai theres no sign of harassment of this level

you can ofcorse go to the court with this but have you thought in your mind what your case is? " YOU LOWERED THE CAR " there is no case

no need to remove the wheel...jack up the car, and twist the locks on the treads of the coilovers...takes me 10 mins max

Ya bags over coils will cost you at least 7000Dhs, I already did the math. But that's about 50% cheaper than a regular air kit, simply because you don't need air struts. I could be wrong though..

I tried talking to LAP57 about converting my coilovers into bags, but they weren't excited about it.. Maybe I should try somewhere else..
Are you sure the car won't pass if I have an air suspension?! I see a lot of crazy low lexus' on the road, usually parked. So I think they're on bags.. I will try and ask one of them

My only concern is the air tank and the compressors.. my trunk isn't exactly spacious :$
