Hi Guys...
Have a small doubt...
Rite Now I'm running on a 17x7.5 (55 offset) stock wheel with 225/50/17 tires
i would like to change to a lighter rim with som different color or so...
but it seems very tough to find a rim wid same specs...
So my question here is...
can i use a wheel with 40 offset?
but the edge of the new tire will be 15mm further away from the inside of the wheel well and suspension components, and 15mm further out from the edge of the bodywork.
so i'm ready to lose .5" (i.e from 7.5 to 7) rim width so that i can compensate the offset change...
is this logic going the right way?
and if YES... can i use the same tire (225/50/17) on new rim?
thanks in advance...
17x7.5 to 17x7

40 offset on current 55 offset will be okey though it will look akward even you go with 7.0 jj rims will not help...
there could be no rubbing problem but looking from a far distance, your tires/wheel will definetly look bad
usually its okey in track racing as you will have much wider wheel base and its good in better steering responce, but not in street cars as it gonna be prone to tires / wheels damage.
if you are willing i have a set of DC5 ITR Rims White 55 offset 17x7 5x114.
