Tires have always been a kind of mystery for me... I quite dont know how to chose a proper set of good gripping tires for my car... What if i play with the tire dimensions, like getting ones with slightly lower profile or wider..
So far based on experience, Good Years have nice grip..

I did run Michelin Pilot Exalto's for a while, average grip and lasted too. but they're not the best in grip for a playable car like the SiR, i think ratings were 400 A A on it. Look for something with a rating of 200-240 A A or AA A.
Also go with 205/50R15 ... this is a perfect size for the civic with stock 15" rims.
Its been a while since i've hunted for street tyres locally. Im running Nitto NT01's on my S2000, but they're not street legal and more of a semi-slick compound that wears out pretty fast but grip levels are amazing and very predictable cornering. I've not had great feedback on the INVO's that they're selling here.
Yokohama S Drive is also great at a rating of 300 AA A. I've not heard any negative feedbacks of it either. Check with Zaib, i forget his nick on this forum ... he's used the S Drive for a while, but not sure if he's done any spirited driving with it
Check if Kumho Dubai has the Exta XS (180 AA A), which is a pretty decent cheaper tyre.
also awaiting RACERF1 's review on the new sumitomo's he purchased for the S2000.
If money isnt a limit, then try Dunlops Direzza Stars - Yokoahama's AD08 (or older 07) - Bridgestones RE-11 (or older RE01R) ... none of which i think is available locally. We usually get these from Tirerack.com when needed.
Choosing tyres will always have pros and cons. more the grip means it'll wear out quicker. if you want it to last long, it might not be that grippy. Yes, you can always choose something in the middle
