Hello Guys..

Could someone please explain the basics of tire and rim sizes?

I mean how to check the width of the rim?

for example a tire says 33x12.50R15LT and the rim says 7x15?

Thanks!

well..i knw a bit..and ill try helping with basics..
a tyre size of which the car can take on max and what is an OK from the factory will be written on a stiker stuck on the driver door area near the lower D piller .
example..
Tyre :
215 / 55 / R17

means ....
R 17 - is 17inch of rim

55 - the the outter wall ( distance between the rim and the tyre ending whn it faces you,low profile, medium profile, etc)

215 - is the thickness of the tyre, 335+ means lambo tyres :D

rims:

114.3 means the LUG nut spacing or something with the lug nuts fitment.

Good link.
And 55 profile is actually a ratio between the width of the tire and the height of the wall.

for example a tire says 33x12.50R15LT and the rim says 7x15?

that tire info is wrong actually it should be written something like this 245/35/R18

245 IS THE WIDTH <------>
35 is the thickness
and 18" is the scale

simple :D

for rims...

7x114

7" is the width and 114.3 is the bolt pattern (in other words the space between the bolts) and 35+ is the offset (means how deep can the rim go inside)
