Tuner Cars Gathering at Za'beel Park Parking on March 19, Thursday, from 7pm to 12am.
See Map below.
The place is the same as last month. Please note the following:
As we had problems with the Police last time where we only ended up changing our spot, we will be monitoring each and every car that enters the area during the time of the gathering.
Please make note this is ONLY a gathering and not a racing event of any sort.
Please keep in mind that since it is a Public Parking of Zabeel Park, we do not expect any kind of misbehavior. Last month's meet went on perfectly with no problems whatsoever. We sorted out with the Police and were only asked to change the location as Academic City authorities do not permit any outsider cars in their parking zone for long hours. No tickets were issued to anyone and everything was safe and well-managed. Turnout was extremely good and everyone had a great time. Thanks to all the volunteers.
We hope for the same this month as well and are looking forward to seeing some of you who couldn't make it last time :) UAE Boost Stickers will also be available on the same day.
All tuner cars are welcome! (Y)
PS. Request to all to arrive sooner as last time we still saw people coming at 12am as we were rounding up. :)

I have a question. In the US we would come to gatherings, and just sit and meet. No BS went on, and the GATHERING was what got tickets handed out. We found out that meeting, even in a public parking, was actually illegal.
I dont pretend to know how it is here. Im just wondering, is that possible?
Also, the authorities might not issue tickets right then and there, but they could always follow a car and ticket them later. I had that done a few times as well. As you know, any modification is technically illegal here. So do the authorities get "technical" at these meets?

We haven't had any problems at any of our meets till date. In May '06 when we did our first biggest gathering ever, we did have CIDs asking questions but no consequences. In the end, it was just a usual meet. At last month's meet, our only mistake was the location. Academic City authorities don't allow any outsider cars in their parking lots after 11pm unless they belong to the staff. Secondly, one of the CIDs on patrol claimed that burnouts happened in that area soon after around 8pm. We were backed up by the Academic City security guards who claimed nothing of such sort happened there at all. The arguments went on for about an hour with the cops; in the end we were told to either give away the car that did the burnout or change the spot right then.ultrablue662 wrote:I have a question. This time around, all cars entering the area will be monitored. We don't want any consequences. We don't want anyone to get any tickets unnecessarily and we'll make sure of that.
I believe there would be no need for them to get technical if everyone behaved like they're supposed to. It's like people meeting with their old school pals in some parking lot at some whatever place - what the hell does that have to do with what cars they came in?Also, the authorities might not issue tickets right then and there, but they could always follow a car and ticket them later. We don't censor the plates in pictures, everyone in clicking pictures there all the time. If we did not intend this to be just a Gathering, we might not be showing the plates in the pictures we post. This is just to guarantee that we are not guilty of anything. I'm sure the cops are responsible enough to not just give tickets to parked cars.
