Last Thursday I had the chance of a lifetime - test driving two cool Hyundai cars.
There is this big Hyundai (FIFA World Cup) promo in Al Qasba, SHJ and the guys there gave me the opportunity to test drive two cars for free.
The first car I tested was the Genesis Coupe. I had to control the accelerator properly because it was a lot more responsive than my Civic! And it's RWD so it's even faster. Though I paid less attention to all the electronic features I found the rear view camera quite handy for parallel parking.
The second car I drove was the new Sonata. I found it great for a mid-sizer... though I never got to try the paddle shifters.
What do you guys think? Which of these two would make a great choice for a next car?

genesis is amazing...built on the design lines of G37s coupe and IS300 and what not...i had seen it in the showroom ....only 2pcs..both sold out
i dont think the price matches for a hyundai but for a RWD coupe car with that power compensates..
but the interior iznt all that great..even in full options you got all plastics on the door and stuff..(( unless you do the doccam CF style wrapping ))
sonatas will end up with RTA sooner or later...as taxis..

How much is a Sonata retailing for? Pick up the latest Wheels mag where they reviewed 5 family saloons, Kia lost, the other 3 were ties!

Well both the cars are of two extremes i would say...one is a coupe and one is a sedan...if you are family guy SONATA is the best way forward...its an awesome car...quite spacious and surprisingly powerful too...the only thing that will put you off is the electronics which cannot compete against its rivals.
The coupe...is an excellent all rounder...well known for its handling...the only exception is the cheap plastics... ...and i cant believe it has no rear windshield wiper!!!!!!...

Hyundai is taking a leap in making impressive cars.. The genesis one good all rounder... Comes with the 3.8 engine from mitsubishi's galant and pajero and a rwd drivetrain.. It probably competes with the market's standard to a minimum but its priced nicely also... It is proving to be a good and cheap tuning option in the US especially that they sell the 2.0 turbo entry models there with a manual...
Actually I think the Kia Cadenza won . Sonata was tied with the others I think.Ozimandius wrote:How much is a Sonata retailing for? Pick up the latest Wheels mag where they reviewed 5 family saloons, Kia lost, the other 3 were ties!
Would suggest you check out the Cadenza if your looking for a saloon. Option packed and same price range.
Otherwise, within the same price range, you can also pickup a 4 door Golf Gti, Civic Type R, etc. etc...... the list goes on.....

Ah, is that so, my bad. What about the 3.5 Altima and Accord saloons?
