As the title says "NISSAN PATROL OR INFINITI G35" So would like to know which one to go for and why?

Patrol 2005-2009
Infiniti 2006-2009

entirely different vehicles.
you have to decide if you want an suv or sedan first based on your requirements like
luggage space, off road requirements, terrorize other motorists etc etc.

cant compare suv vs. sedan...

for purely city driving using the "proper" road then G35.

isnt the patrol worse in terms of fuel mileage since its 4.8 Vs 3.5 g35 ?

Both cars are top of the range on their own
Patrol is good for offroading and has a higher appeal than G35..also luxurious for city although economy might be a bit harsh on the wallet. On the other hand you say you can get a 2009 then why not go for a G37..They are top of the range, really powerful , good economy and one the best sedans out there! (Y)
