Hi,
Does anyone know the RTA rule regarding exhaust systems?
I want to upgrade my exhaust to an aftermarket but not sure its road legal.
Is there a certain db level that it shouldnt be above or anything like that?

thanks,

what car do you have? generally anything that isnt stock is considered too loud - a lambo is loud from the factory so they are fine but you cant put a full system on a 350z/STI/EVO etc and make it louder. If you do put a system on and the cops pull you over its 1 month impound and 500dhs fine

As long as it's not loud, you're good to go. Else, expect to get pulled over anytime, no excuses, followed by one month impound.

you can install electric cut out/butterfly,
then you can control how loud/quiet is your exhaust.

i don't know what is your engine but usually this tail pipes restricts the exhaust flow pretty bad,i would run an exhaust cut out, something with good brand name so it have good life time.
i have tried it,it can make your engine really silent but i wouldn't use it that low,as i mentioned above it will create a lot of back pressure. so it's upon user desire..

Good luck.

forget the mufler tips...they wont do jack...

from what your saying I'm assuming you got the R18 motor...

at the end of the day you gotta civic and ur crying for parts? civics have one of the biggest market for aftermarket parts ...

look for a branded exhaust system along with a good downpipe/straight pipe...then go for good headers...you will literally see and feel the power gain...all though its not too much
