So my father is planning to get himself something interesting and heve been thinking of a toyota fj or a 2-3 year old G35 coupe...

Could anyone inform me about the running costs of the G35? Servicing, Parts, etc.. Is it driven by timing belt, any issues i should be aware of?

Ozi didn't buy the Qx4, but still loves it to bits. Rogue and Docaam can help though, both have G35s.

I would just assume but lets try to think logic.

They do all run the VQ family engine but are not same. GTR has the same family engine but completely diff engine. All the internals, the guts of the cylinder heads and etc will be different thats why they make diff power.

But asside that, if you plan to get 2-3 year old then you wouldnt have probs for few years ahead. I mean its Infinity and is a great build plus it has one of the best interiors. Dont think just buy. :)

ok here you go :)

@ grewal engine basics is same but drive wise its all different ball game RWD vs FWD vs SUV

@ accordtuner mpg people dont follow here but its 18-22 mpg on the way you drive. In km its 12L/100km and on highway I get 11.3L/100km on average and in alain city on very aggressive driving like pushing upto the limit in manual mode its 18L/100km as in city i usually use manual mode. full tank for Super (Adnoc) is for 95dh and i get average 550kms in that, though if you use 95 oct full tank is around 80-85dh

If your dad wants to got for G as him to consider new sedan(2007+) as more practical and second as HR engine which is in 2nd gen sedan, 2008+ Z and new G37 coupe. and 2nd gen sedan is faster then coupe as well. only downside of sedan will be getting cosmetic mods which are limited.

2-3yrs old coupe will be for somewhere from 75-90k and same is the price for 2 yr old sedan.

reliability NOT AN ISSUE AT ALL ..one of the toughest cars i have driven...for me its more reliable then my previous lexus and toyotas...servicing costs me from nissan every 10,000 only 350dh..though 40,000 serice will be 1200 but thats peanut price. For parts i dont know what you were asking but brakes 200-300dh est i haven't changed anything till now its 55000km. timing belt even if its there is not changed daily.

well so far i had jus needed to change the brakes and the regular servicing at nissan isnt tht expensive 5000 is for 340 dhs and 10k is for 1515 ... they give discounts though ... so expect to save a lil once in a while .... but otherwise the only thing im paying for is petrol !!!

Thanks for the info docaam... Im surprised its actually that cheap?!?!?! Opels cost much more to service, almost double..

Judging the age of the car im buying, im expecting some people to sell away to avoid a coming major service for example.. My father will be using it as a gentle daily driver and we never thought of investing plenty on buying a car here cuz living in SHJ there is plenty of room for abuse...
I will talk to him see how he thinks it out, now its time for him to enjoy life since he got rid of me so he's aiming for a coupe :P :P ...
