I got an extra car rotting and using up one of our parking spaces:
Its a Citroen Saxo (yeah it sucks) !!
Anyways the engine is blown ...some light damage....the scrap yard is offering 500/-. Keep in mind the chassis and interiors are in good condition..
So i' im planning some "work" on it:
I posted some pics too!!
I need to know the following:
- Is there any place in sharjah where i can get an engine, preferably the DOHC 1.6l VTS engine?
- Is there any other good performing engine that i can drop into it?
- Any good mechanics here ?
- I am also looking to convert it to a manual tranny? Is this recommended?
Thanx in advance!!

That sounds really good man....but then again the engine is way too heavy and will need custom heavy duty axles, plus wiring issues etc.....AccordTuner wrote:strip it---- then

Yup your're right...they are capable of running mid 14s..i'm heading down to sharjah tomorrow with my dad...he says he's seen a guy stocking Citroen and Peugeot engines somewhere near the BMW road...i'm keeping my fingers crossed...If worse comes to worse i'll just scrap it...coz i already have a Honda project..and i don't wanna spend too much time and money!!!AccordTuner wrote:the VTS engine runs around a 14.5 secs on a Q mile ......

After about 10 laps im usually chasing them ... to lap them
Would serve as a good track car.. Stripped out with a fresh engine with a manual tranny... see what choice of drive trains you could drop in its engine bay.. There is defo mounts fabrication involved.. i got a mechanic right now working on dropping a toyota drive train in a fiat barchetta if ur interested..

You're right ROJ, it would serve great as a track car. And a Jap drivetrain would be amazing. But the reason why i decided to with the TU5J4 is that it's a fairly simple drop-in swap with not much fabrication required. Its also pretty light.ROJ wrote:Would serve as a good track car.. I see your point on a Jap grinder. Another thing is there are near to zero aftermarket performance parts for the Euro VTS unlike japanes engines. But i want a simple build (obvious reasons of time and money constraints,I have a CRX massacred on its knees waiting for parts too! )
I know ur very familiar with Euro runners...so keep the info and comments coming! Appreciate it!
