Hello guys, I had this Check Engine Light just 2 days ago while heading home, I checked the gas cap as refer to some guys which might not properly tightened but everything is fine, I didn't feel any changes while driving it...

I'm wondering as to where I could have it check using that diagnostic tool reader for a reasonable cost, can anyone advice me where to go?

anything unusual? is it running ok?

if it is, most probably you have a busted 02sensor.

Mazda 3 has 2 02sensor. each roughly cost around 375dhs bnew in sharjah.

where are you staying?

i can ask my friend to bring his obd2 scanner. if you can drop by Al ghusais tonight near zulekha/al nahda pond park. we can check it out.

Hi wek-236 thanks for the reply, so far I don't feel any unusual from my Mazda 3,
I'm staying near Century Mall and Dubai Bowling Center.

How much would it cost for the odb2 scanning?

Sent you PM wek-236

Hi usaf23, which brand of spark plugs you used now? as I dont know which one is best Bosch or NGK, as I am also planning to change my spark plugs hoping and might help solve the issue.

Sparkplugs would depend on cars mileage, How about giving us more detail about your car? Year, Mileage.
Cylinder misfire would easily be noticeable while driving as the car would be missing while acceleration. Your best bet would be getting a OBDII scanner and self scan or getting it scanned from a local garage before throwing money into it. Even if you do get your problem fixed, the code might be needed to clear off via scan tool. So i would recommend you to get it diagnosed before throwing money into it.

Hi 7afe, thanks for you reply from this thread and thanks for your advice, I'm driving Mazda 3 2008 1.6L with 87K+ mileage. I actually bought this from 64K+ mileage, til this time I only changed the Tyres, Brake Pads (not original with squeaking sound) and regular Change Oil every 10K with Oil Filter.

Yahh right I should scan the error before jumping to any conclusion, actually I just changed my oil yesterday even if not yet due to change as my colleague advices me to do which actually didn't help.

I have checked now the error code from Sharjah today and its P0031 - Oxygen (A/F) Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 1) http://www.obd-codes.com/p0031 also visited Mazda Galadari to ask advice about the error code and they said that the Oxygen Sensor malfunction and advice me to change but they don't have current stock for the Oxygen Sensor and told me to come back on Sept16.
