Hey guys!

I recently bought a 2008 Lancer GT 2.0 which has done approximately 45000kms.
The car is great and is loads of fun to drive, although a tad slow for my liking, but its fun nonetheless

Getting on to the point, recently my car is having some major engine issues and electrical issues:

1) Engine revs whilst braking - If im at 2000-3000RPM and I suddenly brake, the engine revs to 3500-4000RPM and then gently comes down. This doesnt happen all the time, maybe 3 out of 10 times whilst braking.

This issue is somehow directly connected to the cruise control also. There are times where the cruise works perfectly well, and sometimes it just doesn't seem to set the acceleration speed (Although the Cruise light shows up on the dash)

2) Central locking - The central locking is done through the drivers side door - but my driver lock has somehow just tripped off and it stays on unlocked position, even though i try to lock it, it just spring back to the unlock position - oh, and to make matters worse, my keyless entry key doesnt pair with the car anymore :'(

Changes made since car purchased:
Since my car didnt come with the RockFord system, I replaced the stock crappy player with a Kenwood HU and some Alpine speakers in the front and read, these are powered by a 300W 2 channel AMP which is under my seat. The guy who installed it says all the power has been taken from the original headunit power source, and he hasnt played around with any other wirings.

But, to be honest, all these issues started popping up a couple of weeks after I changed my HU. Could it just be that? :-\

Current work done:
To fix the first issue, I took it to Habtoor in SHJ, and the guy suggested that the CVT oil and spark plugs need to be changed, although it cost me quite a bit to get that done, I got those two things changed from the local dealer. Unfortunately, that did not solve the problem.

Next, I took it to Lap57, they did a complete checkup of the car and suggested I change the Air Filter, Petrol Filter and they performed a fuel injection. They also did a compression test, and they said that the engine is completely fine, and the performance is good.
Even though the performance did improve drastically, the engine revving whilst braking issue still existed.

Im so sick and tired of all the above mentioned issues, but I love the car. It looks great, handles like a dream and is fun to drive around town. I just hope you fantastic people can help me with my issues (which I hope is easy to solve)

My thoughts:
1) It could be the battery (Prolly the new Kenwood is taking too much power and causing something to trip causing the engine and the cruise to malfuntion)
2) Some fuse has gone shot (Because the central locking doesnt work)
3) Sensors gone wonky? (Im not much of an electrical person, but any thought on this?)
4) ECU needs a reset?

P.S - When the car starts revviing under braking, the performance completely dies down, so when I press the gas pedal the next time, the CVT just whines and there is hardly any acceleration. Tiny 1.3L Kia's and Hyundai's overtake me easily. Its embarrasing :(

if anyone knows a good electrical garage or if anyone has faced similar issues, im awaiting your help at the earliest. Thanks!

Check the spark plugs and wires maybe thats why it is misfiring?

Woops. Forgot to mention. Changed the spark plus also during the CVT oil change. Im pretty sure it aint misfiring, or Lap57 would have detected the fault.

It must be the sensors mate! Why don't you take your car down to Al Tesaa Garage in dubai? I had a similar problem in my GMC yukon and they had it figured out and she was on the road within a day. (Y)

Grab Zain's no. incase you need to drop by their place!

Hey man. I visited Tesaa today, but Zayn said that he doesnt work on Mitsu's.
He did a small checkup of the car and is hinting it towards the ECU being bust.
I guess ill be heading to Abu Omar in Shj next week. Otherwise, Anyone know any other professional place who programs/tunes Mitsu ECUs??

Thnx for all the help :)
