if you see the engine bay the 3 has a straight line pipe with no curves and no places fro curves.
thats why its so tuff to get the pipe.

i need to put a new air filter <jst the filter, not the pipe>please can you people advise me the best filer with the best noise..costs and places to get them would be appreciated.
Engine : 1.6.
i had seen a couple of days back a civic making the sound similiar to the Grand Chreokee SRT-8.
anyone knows whats the brand ?
lol, bro you must be a RICER!!!, jokes, jokes, intake filter is for the car to breathe better it can give to much better fuel milage if you drive it the same and normal as before but most people think they are in a sports car after they hear the intake noise their car makes and then they drive crazy all the time.lol
but if you want noise you need to get a un-boxed cone filter, the noise tha you hear is not from the cone filter but what the engine makes when the throttle body is pulled, the noise only happens becase the cone in not boxed hense you hear the growl, buy RACTIVE SUPERFLOW cone filter it sounds INSANE, but it also helps if you have a nissan engine, makes the sound 2x's more scary with actaul performance, honda is slow no go all show< the real reason it was built for was economy VTEC, and nissan VTC were made for performance, thats why there is only so much you can do to vtec.
serioulsy guy you totally under estimate honda's....for your information not all honda's engines are made for better fuel economy..thats why there are such engines as the k20, b18, b16!!! ...you might think that nissan's vtec is "better" then honda's, but what nissan lets you push the rev limit to 9000+RPM??? hmmmmm....
please provide solid information for others on the forum so we can also no about nissan's vtec, and not just some information you have gathered from driving experience (which i am not doubting at all) ...
as for the air filters i think you got it 100% ....good info

many and many - underestimate honda's ... the VTC and the honda's is totally of a different league, even though they both would give it a great fight to be number 1.
i dont know y people dont like honda's -
i guess honda's can do alot more n MORE - than any other plant root chasis with four wheels on them.
but - - ill wait for replies now....lol

My Reply to Tamu and others
I don't hate Honda's but rather trying to tell the honda owners that there's life out there, in other words i was a honda guy too, untill i just knew my car was not fast enough because Honda's just became too expensive here.
it was supposed to be a students best friend i.e cheap to have, but it became
the opposite, it got so much attention that if you had a honda with no hub caps
cops thoght that you were a sleeper honda, they basically knew honda's like we
did, not only that the b16's b18's started to become really expensive, why?
because the engines were becoming rare as every kid wanted a civic and a b-
series engine, so now the enignes became expensive, and swapping a k20,lol
about $6000 for just the engine, not worth it,then the insurance companies,
honda's are on the insurance company hit lists, today the insurance for owning
a 2008 bmw 5 series is the same as a 1994 honda, see the difference, then
again whats the point of being unique when every kid out there had a honda, all
this headache and still realising that a family mini van could out run the honda.
The sound of the Vtec is misleading and the civic cute looks will fool you, due
to lack of 50 split hp torque honda's regardless of D15 SOHC engine a or B16A
B18A B18C and so on the engines die afte 100km or 120 to be exact, because
the toque curve starts to plumet, where as nissans have almost 50/50 hp/tq
ratio, therefore with nissan VTC their cars just fly..... Tamu guy you asked me
for proof, buddy it's common sense lucky your not in the west car scene people
would laugh at you question that you asked me.....read it again and you'll
follow, but unlikemost people here i have seen the world and so realise not
everyone knows about everything, for example there might be some car stuff
you know in dubai that is common but not common know how to us.
anyways this is getting way to long, thats why i don't like going technical....
just wondering do they have nissan sentra spec v where you live???????

Just a quick note...It's not the cone/mushroom filters that make the sound when replacing stock filters. And no matter what brand you use for your cone/mushroom filter the sound produced will be the same...though the sound will vary only because from the pipe length and the type of engine it is fitted to.
