Thanks, yeah I had a read and apparently they do sell the filter I am looking for. I'm now wondering which place would be better (price-wise and easy to find): there, or the Golden Car thing over in Sharjah? :D

Hate to crap this thread (but it could prove to be a good idea as a sticky for members to post their requirements!)...but where can I get an air filter for a 1.6 Tiida? And I need a performance boost...the sound produced is insignificant, the less the better.

I'm not familiar with Golden Car prices of air filters but there will only be a minor difference. Whichever is closer to you, check there first.

Hey
I have a 2001 model corolla
i found the pipe for my car but i cannot seem to find the airfilter anywhere.
I found some actually but they are fake Simota airfilters.
i didnt buy the pipe but i know where to get it from and the guy told me 150 dhs for the pipe?
and i was quiet shocked by the price. But the same guy told me he will find original simota airfilter + pipe + Installation for 300 dhs. I went to him after a few days and he didnt have the original filter.
So does anyone know where i can find a pipe for a cheaper price? so that i can put the fake filter cuz that costs 50 bux ...
and airfilter box is like beaten up , i need to change it so i was thinking i would put a cold air intake instead of putting a new airfilter box and the other parts that come with it.
My cars engine has been swapped with 7AFE (1999).
I also wanted to know does the car pass in tasjeel with the cold air intake? i mean is it legal? ( my car is registered in Sharjah)
Thanks
Lk

How much of power do u end up getting once uv installed an air filter? Is it noticible? Or shud u go for headers and exhausts as well?

air filters are minimal gains... i even remember reading this article in a UK Car magazine where they tested aftermarket filters and found the OEM ones to be better on the car... Most people just go for a drop in panel filter. As for the headers and exhaust, depends on the car, on mine the headers are an extra 10-12 wheel horse power and a full 3" system can get you 25hp with me having a turbo, on an N/A not so much
