OK anyone know how tune a B16A (Si-R) without a turbo. Remember i wanna keep the ride street legal in conjuction with Dubai road rules.
It already has an air intake, upgraded Exhaust (Type-R), Ecu chipped and tuned......so what's next?'

you say its chipped and tuned? so are you looking for a retune?
if you are looking for future mods it should be a b18c5 swap and/or :- /camshafts/cam gears/valves/retainers/pistons/connecting rods/ P&P/ Vtec controller/ type r brakes etc.etc...

I dont know how to tune a B16A, but i can advice you on making your car a bit quicker than it is ... in conjuntion with Dubai road rules you cannot modify anything in a car - so you will have to scrap that idea of obeying the road rulesDLock wrote:OK anyone know how tune a B16A (Si-R) without a turbo. intake and EK9 exhaust are a good start but why did you spend your $$$ on tuning+chipping for just a I/H upgrade. i suggest you a set of cams and P73 pistons to bump your compression up a bit. Now the trouble you will fall is, you have to pay 'again' to get a re-tune after installing the pistons and cams. Next time think a bit further before spending your hard earned $$$ (unless its your dad's $$$ ).DLock wrote:I've already got an air intake, upgraded Exhaust (Type-R), Ecu chipped and tuned......so what's next?'.
Cam : choice is yours, how hardcore you want to go ... im running skunk2 stage 1 cams on my EK, very street friendly cams. Stage 2 and 3 is also available - its all your choice.
Pistons : stick with P73's ... they are safe. If you are not worried about disasters and you have a good tuner in hand ---> go PCT
After all this, you need power with control .... so as Rashood said above, you need to change your suspension and upgrade your brakes and LSD is a must too.
lol .... haha - i like this topic - nice albertho ...
even though i dont have a B18 series engine ... iv got the D series i think - can anything be done with tht ???
got the intake for now ....
what does ECU chips do ?? anyone willing to educate me ?

I've got a d16y7 engine as well and you can turbocharge it, supercharge it, custom tune it (hondata, crome, uberdata, etc...), cam it (although there is not too much power from a single cam engine with low compression).Eleanor wrote:lol .... haha - i like this topic - nice albertho ...

Thread starter. I would recommend an upgrade in camshafts, higher compression pistons, intake manifold, with a high flowing header and exhaust system and a full re-tune.
I hope that helps

Eleanor, a tuned ecu will make you a 'bit' quicker .. but i suggest, invest in in after doing yourself some upgrades (intake, exhaust, headers, cams) ... if not, your gains wont be noticable.
Dlock, in ghusais ... close to where the SiR boys hang out Red EK is mine, im sure you have seen it at Lap57 along with my Tegra. Its there these days for a tranny rebuild.
