OT: The last time I drove a manual was in Pakiland...in a 800cc Charade at a driving institute 4 years ago.

On Topic: I wish I had a manual license just because of the cheap Del Sol.

I find the E30 a fit choice since its praised 4 cuz its the only cheap good handling RWD i can manage & also its simplicity among bmws..
i suggest to swap 1jz or 2jz on the bmw bcoz i waz owning a bmw with 2jz stock twin turbo n hks intercooler, fuel pump n regulator, hks clutch, manual transmision which was a beast giving me around 500 whp soo i suggest 2jz..!! (Y)

^ Im a hearing alot about how good JZ series are in BMWs & i heard a couple of guys here go JZs in their autOX... Say what will need to be changed/replaced in an E30 to sucessfully drop a JZ into a BMW? Personally im not going as far as u did in terms of modding as my plans is a budget RWD AutoX car..

I actually find ur project quite inspiring can u tell me a story about it & the parts involved?

cheers,

^
I got of questions that came up in mind so here i start:
Im not seeking huge figures like above nor FI but looking for something reliable & cheap to abuse & refurbish for use on track... & possibly be road legal inorder to transport it from track, home, garage, etc.. Thnx 4 sharing info abt ur project...

To sum up ur project, lets say without a TT setup. Basically, u would start with the following to get the car running driveable:
- 2JZ + its Gearbox
- Drive shaft
- ECU

Why would the car fail chassis test during registration?

Id say id look for something that is decently torquey & gives out some 170-200hp would be just fine for my needs..

Another Question is what makes u ditch BMWs 2.5 or M engines over a 2JZ? while some people would rather rebuild the original BMW engine? which goes for what? & what is good for what applications?

ROJ see u can take ur car in the recovery ma car waz 4 inch exhaust system but still i drived it 8 months but at last i met with an accident =( see wen u get a 2jz it iz already TT setuped n to make the runing u have to change the shaft, ecu n 2jz+gear box wat.....!!!

wat makes me to swap 2jz instead of 2.5 or m engines bcoz to make them 500hp will cost mee around 50-60000 dhs n u will not get spare parts for the bmw n for 2jz spareparts u can get it anywhere easily........!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^ so im better off sticking with the stock BMW engine if im not going for Turbo...
I heard that hi-performance BMW engines tend to fail on hi mileage cuz of they have a special piston coating that fades off on time.. even though many cross the 300K mark easily..
