I am thinking of putting clear film on the front windscreen, but dont know whether it is legal.

But how is clear film going to affect the visibility, is it there in any website whether it is illegal.

I heard similar stuff too, but it all comes down to your luck.

@ OP

Screw the clear tint on the front screen (IMO it doesn't do much for the 500dhs you pay for it) , just get 1/3rd of the screen tinted with 50~60%, gaurenteed no hassle.

If you want the best answer. Speak to the sales person in 3M before you put your tint on. Thats the best way to go (Y)

I don't understand how you can call it rice when you can't see it ^
Rice is something tacky, ugly etc. How is a transparent tint rice?

3M at Marina Mall gave me a quote of AED 950 vich they agreed to give a discount of AED 100 and final price of AED 850 for sides+rear+visor. Dint decide whether 2 go for visor cos interested in going for clear film for front windshield(but sum r sayin it is illegal). Is it a decent price? :?

Check in sharjah industrial area
After you cross BMW showroom , after the bridge you will see a hyper market on the corner of the building a few shops after the hyper market there is a tinting place , that guy does 3M too.Got it done in the lexus from there. But if you live in dubai then its pointless going there because you'll have to leave your car for sometime & dropping your car in sharjah and picking it up later is not worth it. I'll check for you tomorrow if you willing to drop your car to sharjah for a little cheaper price. Which car is it?

Just to make sure everyone understands - The discussion is about applying clear tint on the complete front windshield being illegal. It is 100% clear but it still distorts the light when you look at it from an angle. So cops can figure out if the windshield is clear tinted if they are looking for it.

Tinting your windshield completely is definitely illegal. The tinting people will tell you it is. I was told by the 3M people that they can apply on the windshield but warned me that the cops were pulling people for this.

We are talking about COMPLETE clear windshield, not a flimsy visor.
