Even i am suffering from mileage issues, i got only roughly 390 km with a full tank in my tiida this month. Previously when i got the car i completed 1100 kms with just 2 full tanks. To check how much mileage im getting i put in fuel for 30dhs and i got only 102 kms roughly until now! The mileage i am mentioning are with occasional flooring of the Tiida. Any body? Any Idea?

Hahaha Coyote302 :D

To the question, like 3 times i floored it !! as in like upto like 4-5k rpm just to get ahead of those stupid 40kph wankers on fast lane on a 100kph road! Otherwise below 3k rpm usual regular calm driving.

reading all this.. i seriously feel something is up with the quality of fuel. maybe more water mixed with it?
Like for example when we fill in 30aed of fuel what we might be ( or so ) getting is 20aed of fuel and the rest could be some additives...
The recent problems with fuel supply in UAE is certainly to question over.

Lets try something like this:
Fill 30 from Emarat or ADNOC and note the kms..
Fill 30 from Eppco or ENOC and note the kms..

this way we shall know whos the faulty supplier.

WTF I checked my mileage today and its seems I got 450 instead of the regular 550-575 on a full tank! Got the last fill from Emarat and I usually get it either from them or Enoc,%#%$ Adnoc for not keeping smokes

I checked today and found that after filling 40dhs of fuel i got 169 kms until the light came on for fuel. So im guessing an average of 40kms per 10dhs. My car goes full tank upto 80 or 85 dhs. so with this mileage im getting im going to get only 320-340 kms on a full tank !!?? WTF!?

The light stays on for quite a while after it comes on. Best way is to fill the tank up, drive around 150 or so kms and then get the tank filled up again. The amount of petrol in litres that you put in the second time and the distance traveled can be used to calculate the mileage. Also, ask the fuel station attendant to not force in fuel in order to round up the value. Most of it goes back in the pump anyway through the vapor line.

^^^inaccurate...cuz you never stop exactly at a petrol station every 100KMs...

so that means your results will be off depending on how far you are from a petrol station at that time...

^This.

Or you could carry a can o' fuel in the trunk :) or fetch some when u need it after parking the car when it completes the 100 kilometers, wherever it is.

I feel its silly to go through this much pain just to determine fuel economy though, since fuel economy has many variables, taking out one will not make it accurate.

An empty tank filled with one single liter and run dry on a dyno will be a lot more accurate.
