Well, recently the containers from Japan have been stopped for some reason and prices are skyrocketing but the prices I know currently are:
1jz+R154 = AED7000
2jz+V161/2= AED 15k
rb20 = AED 2500
rb25 = AED 3500
1jz+R154 = AED7000
2jz+V161/2= AED 15k
rb20 = AED 2500
rb25 = AED 3500

Yea ozi, you being the Genie! haha!
On a serious note, parts are sourced off some specialized+overpriced shops or online.
Common practice is to use fake/fabricated parts or just rape the engines till they give up and then swap in a new one.

I read another post about a guy saying sr20 has no support here true so i guess you are, I just thought it was stupid. The sr20 would be the engine that has the most support world wide! What you guys dont have access to ebay u.s?
There are 2 schools of though on jap engines.
1, its a disposable razor. thrash and replace.
2, break and upgrade. There is soo much aftermarket support for any jap engine out there you seriously have to be on drugs to replace with stock part.
In all seriousness what sort of consumable parts are you talking here?

In regards to the trans, With this place being backwards and much less general knowledge on jap gear I would assume an rb25 or vg30 manual gearbox is not much more than the s15 6 speed?real_ashwin wrote:SR20DET and manual trans, i am checking availability of parts to see if it is feasible for maintaining a S15.WKZ wrote:

Alternators/waterpumps/gaskets and hoses of all kinds/distributors/engine mounts/drive belts/bearings/tensioners/wirings, to name a few.. Certainly as hell you need these consumable parts if you plan to drop and operate a clean/genuine engine once in a lifetime..
Some people improvise and source locally or fabricate or jam some bullshit here and there which rapes the engine eventually.. But it seems hard to find people who would treat it here as a sane investment which would be to drop the engine and ensure it runs well and reliably on a long run... Otherwise it would be un-realistic to treat like 'disposable razor blades'.. Concern is there isnt room for such services/products as it seems the general demand is drop, destroy and then replace..
