I'd suggest that size in Kumho Solus, I have this size on my kia cerato, grip is fine and the ride is pretty comfy too. Market price is around 290 AED/tyre.

Need advice..im in search for 225 40 18 tires, so far here im deciding between kumho ecsta spt ku31 or nitto nt555. The kumhos i can get for 500 from a reputable tire shop (Al Saeedi) and the Nittos will be from Sharjah at some irani shop. I trust Al saeedi when they said that they are new 2011 tires and the nittos are from some random irani shop who said that they would be new and of 2011 make for the same price of the kumho. From whom should i get? TIA

I bought my Nitto NT555 for AED 335 a piece for 16", from the first tyre shop after Sahara. They're 2011 models and pretty good so far. Have you read reviews of the Kumho Ecsta?

Yep, for the models that i have mentioned and both have almost equal reviews. Im jst frightened that the irani shop might send me a fake or slightly used tire. You know how they try to refurb things there. Plus from calling several shops in Dubai, the cheapest Nittos from a reputable tire shop is 580 so it seems abit tricky if they did price the nittos alot cheaper in Sharjah. What do you think? TIA

I actually paid more from my Nitto because I was getting a better deal from the main distributor here in UAE but he had issues with his warehouse, which is why I went to the Irani shops. I paid AED 15 more per tyre if I recall correctly. I can understand fake Michelins and Bridgestones as they're pricey, but as Nitto is cheap from the get-go, I believe there are no fake Nittos.

Have you checked with Zafco for Nitto as I believe they're the distributors in Dubai?

Maybe a used referb one? I've been trying to get hold of Zafco and all the phone numbers that i can get online would just keep on ringing. Would you happen to have a contact number for anyone in Zafco so i can inquire the prices?

Thanks

I managed to contact a person from Zafco and quoted me 442 for each, although the availability is a problem. He gave me a number for a shop in Sharjah who is one of their dealers and he's got them in stock although for 480. might go tom to Sharjah and check it out.

Thats not the actual Hankook Dealer, just some overpriced irani tyre shop.

The actual Hankook dealer is near the 3rd interchnage on SZR. When going towards Abu Dhabi on SZR, get onto the third interchange and turn left towards AL- Qouz industial area, then from the signal(its also a T-Junction) turn left, then take the first right turn, and then again the first right turn, It'll be on your left side.
Here's a cause for thread revival.

I'm looking for two pieces of the following size in any decent brand possible:

205/50 R15.

Lap57 have quoted me AED 350 but I have yet to confirm the brand. Hankook in Al Quoz quoted me AED 340 for the Hankook Ventus ME01 (assuming it's the K114 model).

Is that a good price? I can't find Falken Ziex (had 4 of these, one got punctured, so I have to replace it) or Nittos or Sumitomos in this size.

Try Pirelli from Al Hawaii Tyres at Rashidiya, they are the distributors of Pirelli and good price.

You can get good rates and choice from "Al Saeedi" retail outlets. Multi brand shop , they got like six locations in Dubai as shown in their website www.alsaeedi.com. Hope that helps !
