The lumina, big time. It has more power, it's rwd.

The auto nissan does 6.9 sec. over 0-100km, so let's even say with some mods it's 6.5.. the lumina is does it in, let's say with a guy who can't drive mid to high 5 seconds..

i vote for Altima,
Americans dont know how to make cars !!! (my opinion - no one get offended) - but seriously - all they do is make HUGGGGGEEEE engines and still the power isnt that great !
i mean the Lumina SS is 5.7 - FIVE POINT SEVEN LITRES!!! thats Huge !!! and the car isnt steady on the road at all ....

ALTIMA ALL THE WAY! as GT-35 said...... his 3.5 (almost half the engine size) could still keep up with a Lumina!

Japanese cars are the best!

Big engines have a massive amount of torque, and don't forget..

"Horsepower sells products, torque win races" :D

Your car has a 6.1 0-100kmh time? That's not bad, what modifications you have? The problem with the 0-100km time, you need to know how to launch.. This is the case with all cars, i know..

"Americans don't know how to make cars" is a bald statement, in some context it's true.. Comparing a 2 liter S2000 making 240hp (new version), and a Lumina S (3.5L) has around the same power.. though the lumina has a good low end torque, while the S2000 will have to rev all the way up to.. 9000 (?) rpm..

But trust me, i prefer japanese cars and girls above americans as well.. :) Unless we're talking about corvettes :D

dont get me wrong guys......
Americans do know how to make cars..... but in my opinion - if you are looking for reliability, if your tight on cash and you need to save on gas (places other than UAE) and you want to have fun ...... americans cars dont really give you much options!

Jap cars offer all of the above and do it in half the engine sizes!

no way altima can beat the SS..
remember guys.. how irfan's SS raced with the Toyota Soarer 1 JZ ( grey soarer when it was modified fully) and won comprehensively..
and then he raced with the Skyline GTS 33 and smoked it too

my votes for SS !!!!

well good topic atlast sumthin came up well as people here say tht japenese cars are good i do agree but if u talk abt the turbo ones well let me give one example if a skyline gtr crank gets busted wht u gonna do repair the crank or put a new engine it mean those cars are to mess around for once well many people will agree with me abd talkin abt lumina ss vs altima its seems a joke dude lumina is a beast and talkin abt altima well its best for the people who dream of buyin a corolla so its an option buy a crolla or an altima and if u talk abt the race well i guess 200 bugs mountain bike can beat altima.. well guys lumina is 5.7 360 hp and u can change its hp to minimum upto 460 hp with an turbonetics and if u talk abt the race between bmw m5 and lumina tht makes bit sence so if lumina and altima i guess u guys might be talkin abt lumina ls or ltz but ss dont even think abt it ...

Private eye, do you ever use punctuation? :)

I'm afraid that the SS will win, actually, if it doesn't win.. the driver shouldn't drive an SS.. simple as that.

I once test-drove a lumina SS in Qatar, and the car is pretty quick.. it has in the end a big engine, and an rwd drivetrain. For example, if my car would be rwd, it's be a full second faster in the 0-100kmh acceleration with the same engine power. A guy in the US had his hyundai "converted" to rwd.. (anyone an old bmw drivetrain for sale?)
:(

Furthermore, no car is reliable if you put big boost numbers on the engine.. Sure, a NA toyota/honda can go on for a long time.. But hey, i have a friend who has 40 year old mustangs who still drive on a daily basis.. I'd like to see a corolla in 40 years still smoking golf GTI's :D

If altima is manual then it does have the chance due to advantgaeo f a light body .. and about a lumina that aint bad too coz the hp is way ahead more and it lacks on its way coz of the body , but in my opnion i would go for a lumina coz after like 80-100 it booms..
