My friend is going for an upgrade in his audio setup. His car is a 2004 Nissan Sunny and i went to yellow hat and got quotes for these products as per his list of needs.

Head Unit with In dash TV

Kenwood KVT 532DVDM

Quoted Dhs 2599

Subwoofer

rockford fosgate pl2-210
Quoted Dhs 917

2 Speakers + 4 Tweeters

Rockford Fosgate P162S
Quoted Dhs 900

Amplifier for Speakers

Rockford Fosgate P400

Quoted Dhs 1468

2 Speakers

Rockford Fosgate P152C

Quoted Dhs 367

Amplifier For woofer

Rockford Fosgate T400 2

Quoted Dhs 1468

1000 Dhs approx for all cables for speakers+subwoofer+power pack as per the sales man.

around 1500 for Installation of the entire Package.

Prices are quoted from Yellowhat @ Time Square.

What i want to know from the AUDIO Guru's here is are these good parts for the audio system or are there any replacement parts in each section such as Head Unit , speakers, woofers, Amps etc. Because the Budget for all these seem to be quite high for my friend so if you guys could tell me of any substitute product or justify me with a reason to tell my friend why these products are good.

Thanks in advance.

Keep the speakers and ditch the tweeters. You can get similar tweeter for maybe less the price. HU is ok, but the amp for the woofer is over kill.

I have the same woofer in my HB EK and I use the P400 which IMHO works very well. You don't need such a expensive amp for your speakers as well, get a decent 4 Channel kenwood or Explode amp with good RMS ratings and it should be sufficient.

The cabling sounds expensive, look for a tsunami wiring kit in NAIF which is cheap and works very well. I think NEO uses the same kit in his car.

The install sounds pricey as well, I used to do it at a friends shop with some of his help for free. You can PM Neo and see if he has time and maybe he can do the install for you guys for a decent fee...other then that the overall system would be rocking....

btw you never mentioned the enclosure for the woofer. Ask Neo about cubic air capacity for the enclosure, maybe he can get you proper dimensions for a good enclosure. IMO the enclosure is a important aspect for good bass...

Good luck..

Tamu he can not ditch the tweets as it is part of a set, the RF power series separates is sold as a set. And this separates sets performs well that way.

@hk20: You're friend can try the LA S4.65c it cost about AED367 for his separates, quite reasonable performance for the price. Or he can try the infinity 6020CS, I think they are almost priced the same.

For the amps, like what Tamu has said a decent kenwood or JBL will do with enough rms power.

Good Luck on the install. (Y)

Complete RF setup?

I didnt do a deep dive into the specs of the speakers or amps you had mentioned.

Considering the amount of money you are spending I would say no to RF!!!!

Get similar component speakers from JBL or Boston
Get Amps from Kenwood or Pioneer.

The problem is if you pick the stuff mentioned above you might have to get it installed from guys who does basic installation.

I guess 1000 bucks includes capacitors, connectors, cables, junction box, fuses etc... but still on the higher side. Ditch the capacitor.

If I had a sunny I would go for Lightining Audio special offers from Yellow Hat!!!

So far i see its been pretty good.

On installation paying 1500 is considerable if they are going to do a neat visible job which gets full scores during a competition.

Whats the whole point of getting stuff for 5 grands and then do a piss poor installation.

I get the point NEO, could you suggest some components by which i can replace the RF stuff. I mean the model numbers and stuff. I could have a real good look about those and suggest my friend. Even i felt the amount going to be spent on the sound system is going to be too high.

Lets say , keep the HU kenwood. Woofer - Pioneer or Alpine.
Amps ( kenwood or pioneer), Speakers - ( pioneer or Kenwood or Alpine), Cables - Tsunami or anything equal to it .

What say ? Could you refer some parts in these which brands with their model numbers and price approximation.

Thanx

this is what i will do use the RF products its real good. use the split system up front change the sub to a RF p1 10 inch
use one 4 ch amp from RF and bridge two chanels to run the sub and the other two for the split system - great setup and will work very well. speakers in the rear is a waste - the principle is you are standing in front of a stage not on the stage all sound should came from the front.
