"Drag Strip" next to AUS!?

Postby xsijux on Sun Jul 18, 2010 8:18 pm

Do you guys know of the looong road that starts and ends with roundabouts, next to American University of Shj.?? i was on my way back after meeting a friend in AUS and happened to be on the road. was just driving casually when i noticed the road is awfully long... and... no speed bumps...? no radars...?

U-TURN!!
Did 330 km/h and will never look at my car the same again

330 km/h is about 205 mph. Never thought the DB9 pushes 200 mph.

You would have struggled to reach 300 km/h (if the car is stock). The speedo reading could have been 330km/h. But I doubt it would be that much off the mark.

Anywhoo! What did it feel like? was your car stable? Did you run out off road?

Didn't really struggle. it hit 330 pretty smoothly. not much lag. and the speedo reading was right on top of the 330. i used to think it stops at 300. And thats what the website says too :s
But it sped up quite a bit even after the 300 mark. the needle was where the red marking is shown

I ran out of road by then.

It felt like one small jerk could send me rocketing through the wall next to me. The car itself was extremely stable surprisingly but the side mirrors were too shaky i couldn't see anything from them. I wanted to take a pic but i would probably not be here had i took my hand off the steering wheel. Gonna do it again the next time i go there! this time with a friend and a camera

...and i wonder what happens if i put the window down at 300+ :|

That wouldn't be a very smart thing to do!

I would actually ask you not repeat what you did!Your car might be able to do the speeds in excess of 300KPH. You may be able to control your car at that speed. But the roads you use are not meant for that kind of speeds. The outside temperature is quite high and will play havoc with your tires temperature. There are a lot of things which can go wrong ever so slightly and make this horrible.
