To be honest, I don't even know!!! :|

I just tell them to put in the most expensive synthetic they've got, and I go to the Bridgestone place by my house... I think the platic containers are a gold colour, is that Castrol?

It's supposed to last 10,000km but I change it every 5k. I love my engines... 8)

If Castrol where to offer me a chance to win/drive this, I would switch to Castrol immediately!!! :D

Castrol.
Always did, always will.
ALLLL my cars use Castrol, 2 of em run on EDGE and one of em on GTX.

However I'm greatly disappointed that Castrol does not bring in grease ... They bring grease in 180 kg barrels, but consumers like me don't really need 179kgs of that barrel ... They should bring in bearing and general purpose grease here.

I have never used castrol on my rides before, except for my motorbike.

It seems that castrol does not work well with my choice of engine. In Manila, I have an sr20det, and a lot of people who has this engine avoids castrol due to their not so good experience with these oils. But as per experience shell helix seems to work well with sr20's.

Here with my subie, after buying it 2nd hand, I had changed the oil to my oil of preference which is shell helix the yellow one. And since then the car is running smoother and quiter. :D

Thanks for your posts..

I am glad that most of you are happy with Castrol, the golden plastic containers are the Castrol Edge Sport which is the best oil for high temperatures like in Dubai.

Subie - Do you mean subaru?? if it is a force induced car, then i would suggest you to try the Castrol Edge Sport

Grease, there is very little demand on small quantities. However, Adnoc has them available in small quantities as they are produced in UAE

i have caltex havoline fully synthetic 10w50 in my lancer and corolla ,because it is easy to get for me , a lot of place around have it for sale .

s2000 was running mobil 1 fully synthetic 0w40 , engine is fast but the oil burn too quick , also worry it is a not good for the weather here . so i switch to castrol edge sport 10W60 , so far it is good and i like it , just a bit hard to find a place around me selling it .

Mobil1 synthetic 0w-40 on all my hondas,

i was at the castrol ambassador club launch last year at autodrome and team saluki was present who gave the thumbs up to castrol and some really good reviews.

both my projects are going through engine break-in afterwhich i will try castrol for sure.

Ah, good! So I'm already a Castrol customer. (Y)

To tell you the truth, though, I don't particularly feel any loyalty to the brand - as I said I just ask for the most expensive and I didn't even know it was Castrol; it could have been any brand.

I'm not sure why, because for other products I do tend to shop by brand.... strange.

Maybe it's because I have no real way of knowing how one oil is different from the other and so I let price decide, thinking the most expensive must be the best... that must be it. Every oil brand claims its oil is the best, so how else can I know what's really the best?

I suppose that's why sponsorship is so important for you guys - I know the Saluki boyz, and if they told me they were happy with Castrol (and not just because it's their sponsor!) then I would believe them and also ask for that brand.

As for expensive, I am 100% in favour of paying top dirham for lubricants and fluids, because I know only too well that it's far more expensive to have to rebuild a seized engine! So a few more 50 dirhams on fluids is nothing compared to the expense of a major mechanical problem.

i try different engine oil , i do notice that is different between oil to oil . either to ask someone which is better , better try it yourself .
