Not that I'm a big fan of neon lights, the right color under the right car can have a pretty nice effect. I was just wondering if it is legal, and where to have it done? People tell me "Gulf & Wireless", but I don't know if they are the best out there.. regarding price/quality..

When it comes to price & quality, there's always just one workshop to go and that is the Performance MotorSpares. Though they'll charge a bit higher than others, the quality is always assured.
Most Neon kits you'll find in other shops are not like the ones thats on your mind. It doesnt really spread. That will just give out a short glowing line on the road. Whereas the original branded ones like Street Glow will give out a widespread glow just like the one you see in The Fast and the Furious movies.
Check the attachments for the fake/real ones. This is something really different:

A normal "kit" from streetglow is between 150 and 250 USD.. I think.. 60 pounds aint that bad.
If you know how to handle a drill, you can pick up some lights in Sharjah or Deira, and maybe only have to pay 100 to 150 aed for your entire set. But then you need to do it yourself.

I was wondering about this, where in dubai can you get a good set of neons?
all the ones I've seen are pretty crappy
I'm not looking at doing something that looks shitty as hell.
I don't want the tubes to be visible, I want the light to shine

When I wasn't living in Dubai yet, I bought some neons in Deira for my starlet. And they worked just fine, and they were cheap..KkiL wrote:I was wondering about this, where in dubai can you get a good set of neons?
To have a good kit, I know that Gulf & Wireless do them.. but you might pay a bit more.. Thing is, that if your neons stop working after a week, they'll fix it.
Some more expensive shops probably do this as well but..
1. either you pay way too much money, and you can better order something from places like http://www.streetglow.com
2. you pay less (yet probably more than imported) and they do a less-good job (visible tubes, ...)
As you'll see through the board, I put more trust in imported stuff.. But that's just me.
everything mikeh said!
PluS
(although i dont like them anymore) -
AutoPlus! - in Deira - told me for about 600AED, give you three tubes, front, and two sides, -- They PROMISED me it wont be visible...
What i found interesting in theirs, - Each Light tube, is made up of a row of LED bulbs, so basically, never really have to replace the WHOLE bulb....
But - as Mikeh said, streetglow is prolly ur best option locally -(but more expensive)

These LED things are pretty flat, you'd normally wont be able to see them easily. Depends on the underside of your car as well. But since this LED-bars are pretty slim, it's better.Accord98 wrote:AutoPlus! - in Deira - told me for about 600AED, give you three tubes, front, and two sides, -- They PROMISED me it wont be visible...
Otherwise, an upcoming trend is wheel well leds..
